so I was just chillin and thinking about winter. Why do we bother to clear the streets and roads in winter. We should let the snow fall and instead of using all the gas and spreading salt and sand everywhere there should be an alternate vehicle for winter. im thinking like a snowmobile with a cab so it turns out to be a large snowmobile with a car body on top. if you think of it it would save the government money and prevent the possibility of slipping off the road because of too much snow or such problems. if everyone drove these vehicles it would cut down on gas usage because all the bigass snowplows would be useless.

obviously this isnt a well thought out idea but just something i thought of that i wanted to throw out there.

comments and thoughts?
 
tracks go for about a grand a piece if not more. Then multiply that by 4 tires or a vehicle. Then multiply that by every car that would need them is less than what it costs to plow the roads. Also who the fuck would pay for this?

wtf are you talking about? i said there would be no need to plow snow. vehicles would be outfitted to drive on top of the snow like a snowmobile.

fuck i just thought of something to add, imagine late night when there was nobody on the road you could tow your buds around with a tow rope while they ski behind. dont tell me nobody thinks this idea is at least a bit cool?
 
the place i ride has a GIANT lake at its base...its sort of part of the whole resort. anyway, when the lake freezes you can look from the lift and see people dragging skiers behind snowmobiles sometimes, it just looks awesome.

i have a sled but have yet to try it, i will someday though and will get back to you. as for the roads thing, that would be bad ass as well.
 
jea thats what i was thinking about for the treads. the governemnt would redirect the funds for snowplowing to helping buy the treads. the idea i had was more or less about what if shit was that way already and everyone was outfitted with this shit for their vehicles. it would solve a lot of problems and save on gas and prevent salting and sanding from being needed. when the plows salt and sand the road it eventually ends up in the melting snow which flows into rivers and lakes and can harm or damage animals and wildlife around the affected areas. so if you think about it environmentally then it should be a better way to do shit
 
wordd. one night i had a bud over to session my the box in my yard and it started snowing heavily so i took my old beater skis and tied a rope onto the hitch of his subaru and he pulled me down the snow covered streets, it was a lil stupid cuz if i were to fall i prob would have gotten wrecked but it was still fun being able to hop into peoples ditches and just ride all over the place like that
