Wets vs. 1000s

Currently I have enough saved up for the 1000s but don't know if I should pull the trigger or wait for preorders on the wets. Any ideas?

honestly, if the 1000 fits your vibe, i would say go 1000. my friend tried them and loved them. Åre skidfabrik have a good reputation for making good skis.

for me rn, vishnus would almost cost as much as getting 1000, all because of shipping and customs. still going vishnu though

You could buy pretty much 2 pairs of wets or one pair of 1000s if you're going for straight value, I'd go with the vishnus.

My pair of 1000 park skis just came in and they look beautiful. They are already very easy to flex out of the box I can let you know more about them if I got to big snow because my season ended.

When I demoed them they were very playful and very good all around the moutain. It might help that I am really light but I was able to charge through without any chatter, they felt playful but powerful through the moutain

Pics or your full of shit.

Honestly, if you have the money - I’d pull plug on 1000 since they’re so new. Nothing against Vishnu, they’re sick, but the second hand market (and price) of Vishnu is just so much more accessible. If 1000 didn’t live up to what you wanted, it would be way easier to get second hand wets or pre-orders than the opposite way around. Also, 1000 is compromised of some guys primarily from ON3P so it’s not exactly like they’re used to poor build quality. Finally, Åre skidfabrik puts out some really good stuff. If you are ever in Colorado front range, Bjorn Aberg is always doing free demos at his house and at Ikon resorts. I saw him pressing his 1000s underneath the lift on a black just skiing the moguls and doing butter 3s like it was NBD. It was actually pretty impressive

Yeah that’s what I have been thinking, I don’t wanna have more of an all rounder and just love the red of 1000s

So fucking hyped, just need some good looking bindings now

Functionality is more important than if your bindings and skis look cool.

A torn ACL, MCL, and PCL looks really lame IMO, just get pivots.

TRUE BUT GET 14s

From my experience the toe piece on the Pivot 14 is terrible and subject to blowing up. The Pivot 15 or 18 have the better toe.

I don’t love the SPX12 but it will work. You probably don’t need a pivot 15 if you’re 130. If you’ll do pivots, look into pivot 12. Also consider tyrolia attack 13

I am only 130 pounds, do you think the spx 12 work?

I bet I can get the pivot 12s and maybe paint them red my self

You tried roasting me when I flamed you for recommending them and not having them.

You still haven’t skied them lol

Pivots will do nothing to mitigate any of the injuries you mentioned.

You're right, the turntable heel is to prevent tib/fib fractures.

But after 7+ years of only skiing FKS/Pivots, I'll never touch another binding... Haven't hurt my connective tissues yet.
