what do you all think about this school in Utah? If anyone goes there please get at me and let me know some insider info. This fits my expectations of a college almost to a T.
i know a lot of kids that go to westmini and id have to say that a good majority of them have scholarship help... it seems as though they hand them out like hotcakes there....
its really small... like group 5 hs size.. good atmosphere... kids all seem to like the classes... winter at westminster(most killer study abroad program ever)... nice campus which is very close to the mountain and the u of u (for parties and long boarding)
but the u is sick... huge... amazing campus with a train that takes you from top to bottom (but why take it down when you can longboard?)... equally as close to all 3 canyons (about 30-40 min to all major 7 from either school) plus the u is so cheap once you become a resident... (60 credits or 3 years, which ever comes first)
all depends on what your doing... i know that westminster has a top notch environmental programs... they also have flight school if your into that... the u has one of the top engineering and buisness departments in the country... plus the u has medical.
was watching a show with top wall street people and they say they have never hired anyone becasue of the school they went to its all about what u have done job wise and what u can do in the futrue unless is something special
westminster has good business to. take a tour and see waht you like better. I toured both of them, and I personally liked Westminster better. I might go there to if I get in.
at westminster if you have above a 3.0 or something you get a little financial aid or something.
wait, considering what you were looking at in your other thread, westminster is not that good of a school. UW is way better, so is CC, and even CU for that matter.
this is what I was looking for, thank you. I didn't know jack shit about the school other than that it was a decent school that was in SLC, way better than U of U.
claim much?? i mean especially for someone who doesnt seem to know much about either... like i posted early, it all depends on what areas of study your looking for...
I'm sorry but I did my research and academically a small liberal arts school is better for me than a larger school. It's just my style of learning. So, for me, it IS way better. And I don't know if it's reflective or not but the average entering GPA is quite a bit higher than the U of U one.
well that is a much better way of putting it... and on the gpa note... that makes sence, but mostly because westmini is just harder to get into (require higher gps/sat/act)... and the acceptance rate at the u is somewere around 85%... but yea... i dont necessarily think that just because a school is harder to get into, that in turn, its a better school.
I went to Winter @ Westminster 2 winters back and had a great time. I really liked the small class sizes and small campus. If I had attended as a sophmore I probably would have transfered, but I was a junior and financially it didn't make sense to retake credits. PM me if you have any questions.
