I am probably going to go to Western for school and was wondering how long it takes to get from the campus to Baker?

My bad. What I was trying to say was do they plow the roads often/whenever their is alittle snow or do they wait until there is a couple inches.

I might hitch hike but i won't be there until winter of 10/11

just got back from Montana state today because im looking at colleges... how is western is it pretty chill ???

Western's a legit school. If I didn't grow up in Bham it would rank in my top 3 schools, based on academics/proximity to skiing.

go to bozeman! its an awesome town and there is skiing 25 minutes away at bridger and around an hour at bigsky..then you can also make it to whitefish or the great divide! so much skiing you wont know what to do with yourself

Word, although I am a Griz, I highly recommend heading to MSU if you are looking for some narly shredding. You honestly can't beat Montana pow and there's not as much crowding as Colorado or Utah. There's also UM in Missoula with Skibowl 15 minutes from campus, backcountry at Lolo Pass 45 minutes away, Lookout Pass and Lost Trail Pass an hour and 45 minutes away and Whitefish is only 3.

Thanks for all the replies. Both those schools look excellent. Does anyone know whether there is good mountain biking around Bozeman? I gotta have something to do in the summer too.

I was up at western yesterday for a tour and pretty much fell in love with the place, It has an awesome campus.

Bozeman is super fucking chill if you like a skier/boarder town where everyone hits the mountain then check it out everyone is super friendly to...

well ill be coming home during summers but i know there is mountain biking,,,not sure how good it is as is i dont mountain bike, but i would guess it is good cause bozeman is pretty much 360 degrees surrounded by mountains

Ya the campus is super sick, definitely one of the best parts. Whatever you do, don't live on North campus, at least in Mathes or Nash or Edens (Edens north is aight though).

And Chik-Fil-A is bomb as fuck. I'm about to go pick up a sammich.

are they in the regular cafeteria lineup, or is there some restaurant i dont know about?

sorry i never make it to north campus, but i would for some fucking gyros.

Oh and on the main topic, yeah you should just come to western, everyone else does.

The Gyros are in the VU, NOT the VC.

VC = viking commons, the dining hall.

VU = Viking Union, the place Chik-fil-a is at.

Where do they have pannini's??? Those are bomb

Sub connection sucks, at least when I got a sandwich there, it was trying to be Subway but failed massively.

Elijah: Don't live on North campus, it's a police state, filled with snitches and bible humping fools. The ridge is legit though, where you live doesn't matter much though, I live in Mathes and I'm in Kappa every single day until about 12 or 1 am. On a second thought, why are you paying to live in a dorm when you have a ballin ass house right by the ridge??

Panini's are in the rec center and they are NO good.

Gyros are good

Sub Connection is best. Baja chicken, toasted.

i just took a tour of western for one of my classes it was sooo dope gaah it was super sick i also went onto the uw campus uw was aswell really cool i thought it was cooler looking like how old the buildings are but western just looks like a cooler and easier school haha. Noob question but does baker have a park anymore? i heard a rumor that it got taken out?

Baker used to have 2 parks, the park on chair 8 (big park) and the park on chair 3/4 (pinky park). They've taken the chair 8 park off of the maps, so I assume the pinky park is all thats left.

Anyone that thinks Western is "easier" then UW is fooling themselves. Each department is required by the State and other agencies to meet certain guidelines/class load in order to have graduates. There is a reason for accreditation.

Now will the quality of the education be better? That's up for debate. I like the think the students at Western follow the work hard, play hard mentality.
