hey im looking at western for school. i wanna go for fine art and photography. my bro goes to school out there and we are lookin into buying a house for him.

do any of you guys go there?

what are you guys goin for and how do you like the school

western is cool for one year at most. Unless you come from a small town. I went there for 2 years. Yes, you get to ski a lot, like 4 days a week in the winter. But that is it. there is nothing else. And remember Western is in Gunnison, not Crested Butte. The school isn't that great at all as far as teachers go. It's the cheapest school in the state for a reason. If you like doing things, and having stuff around you open past 9 at night do not go to western. I still have to go out there all the time, and I just keep remembering how much I hated it.

I think Anthony Boronowski in general is just a phase.
 
hey Phrosty, where are ya livin now?

I went there for a semester, and only a semester because I sucked at going to class. I'm returning there next semester. I can say I have a totally different opinion of Western than Phrosty does. I love that place, and especially the people there. If you have friends who are creative, then there is stuff to do after 9pm. Most people just get burnt out from drinking so much.

Western Washington in Bellingham is soo good and you are like 1 hour from Mt Baker and 2.5 hours from Whistler. Nice campus and cool town

I AM STICKING TO THIS ANSWER TILL THE DAY I DIE: WESTERN STATE ABSOLUTLEY ROCKS. YOU JUST CANT BE SOME SHY ASS PUSSY ABOUT TALKING TO GIRLS, AND YOU WILL GET TO MEET ALOT. THE RATIO THIS YEAR IS 50-50 IN THE FRESHMAN CLASS, THE SKIING IS AMAZING, AND THERE IS ALOT OF COOL PEOPLE. I ABSOLUTLEY LOVE GOING HERE ANDWOULD NEVER THINK OF GOING ANYWHERE ELSE. UTAH IS GREAT BUT I LAUGH AT THEIR STEEPS. ABSOLUTLEY LAUGH. COME TO WESTERN AND I'D IMAGINE YOU WILL BE PSYCHED ON WHAT YOU FIND HERE. PLUS, IT HAS ALREADY SNOWED QUITE A BIT HERE.

flatspinner, where are you from? a small mountain town right? and ben, you too, see it's fine if you like that small town feel, and everything. But if you are from a big city you're not gona like it. THere's never any cool concerts, or anything else goin on. I live in denver/boulder now, again. and it's better. yea the drive up I-70 sucks we all know that, but you give some and you take some.

To tell the Truth about Wasted State is described in one word; GOD DAMN HIPPIES if one can stand their ville stench, girls with more arm pit hair than a fully grown man and peace love and all that other bull shit that they preach then have fun, but if your mission in life is to destroy them then I, as a soon to be former resident of the area, would recomend avoiding Wasted State

Crested Butte is a sick ski resort it would make going to school there worth it on its own but then a again gunnison is not such a hip town (bid to be the state capitol) But it is so far from anywere else that it sucks gunnison is one of the furthest towns from anything in colorado. The school i have heard sucks nut sack for actual education but its easy and cheap. I also heard that the party situation is in the toilet and that the majority of the students there are dumb hicks.

you do have a huge transite population down there but Bellingham (western WASHTINGTON university) is the biggest hippy town left in the US. High Times even ranked us the bigest stoner town in 2004.
