Wester delivering

well he has gotten a lot of hate for ranting on comps, but he is putting his words to fact - 2-4 April he is putting his idea on a "street league" to snow in Sweden. He is calling it " trick bag contest". It's great to see something new and lets hope it's a success so that comps don't all end up "spin to win".

Finals:

-10 skiers hit a big jump and a rail setup

-All skiers get six tries on both features

-Scored 0.1 - 10 for each trick

-Jumps and rail equally important

Delivered like a champ.

from Jacobs page:It’s ON! For the last 2 years I have been thinking about organizing my own event, but I haven’t quite had the time, resources and back-up until now. 2-4 april in the Swedish resort Storlien (40 minutes from Åre), it’s finally happening, The Trick Bag Challenge 2012. Being the first year, we are focusing on a small-scale event, as a way to test out how everything works, then next year the plan is to go international. The idea is simple – to crown the most well-rounded jump and rail skier out there! The concept in short:

-10 skiers qualify in a traditional slopestyle contest, best out of 3 runs count.

-7 runs each on a rail jam setup, every different trick counts, 0.1-10.0 points per run.

-7 runs each on a big air jump, every different trick counts, 0.1-10.0 points per run.

-maximum score 140 points.

If you want to be a part of TBC2012 please submit a 1 minute video before march 20th, showcasing your best tricks on jumps and rails, and remember; innovation and diversity counts! Link to video qualifier (swedish). The top 10 videos selected by a jury will receive free lodging, food and lift tickets during the event, and after that invites will be sent out to deserving videos depending on how many spots we can fit.

The contest window is 3 days which hopefully will allow everyone involved to ski as much as they want, session the course, and get as much footage together for edits that will drop continously.

Stay tuned for more info to come shortly, and make sure to join our facebook group!

pioneer of the sport, throwing some of the first and best doubles years ago before every other kid and their brother could do them. he deserves to say whatever he wants.

jacob is the shit, way smarter than 99 percent of people out there

just wish he would stop ranting against american sports all the time... we like the NFL, deal with it

I haven't noticed any of his rants about that but as another non-american I'm gonna back him up on it, I think it must be a culture thing cos NFL is really boring.

But related to the thread: I'm really stoked to see Wester deliver on this, the guy is currently one of the most innovative skiers. Sorry for the double post.

really really stoked on this, Ever since i saw street league i knew that skiing needed something similar, really hope this catches on and gets used in other contests so we can stop this spin to win madness. It's also really huge that the rail counts as much as the jump, this will really show who the all around best skier is!

what is cool with this, is that it rewards skiers who are versatile and have big bags of tricks. It's also focusing on rails in a different way - not just the on an off part of it, but what you do on it as well. hopefully this will lead to more of the cool stuff on rails - at X-games it was most 2 on and then spin to win off - I would like to see more stuff like B-dogs (don't know what to call it) truck driver transfer thing from Dew-tour. And i like the fact that you can only get judged for a trick once - so you need a new trick. I tip my hat to Wester - Yes he some times say things that might offend some people, but he is a guy with an opinion and he speaks his mined - and i like that a 1000 times more than just swimming with flow - even thou i might not always agree with him. Well his segments from last year- well he killed it
