No thats not the point at all. religion is basically a club of people with like-minded ideology who enjoy the comfort of thinking they know how the universe works, and if you don't agree with that club you won't be accepted. Religion is generally pretty exclusive.
 
As much as I dislike WBC, and dislike organized religion i feel like i have to defend them. They have the right to spew whatever they want and scotus has upheld that right (in a case specifically involving them). If they want to protest the funerals of the dead they can go ahead and do it, and none of use should stoop to their level of talking about killing them and what not.

if we wish to protect our rights we must also protect theirs.
 
They came to park City to protest a substance flick last year and our student body did a good job organizing a giant wall. We had 250+ to their five.
 
Holy shit I've been watching a lot of this guys videos and hes fucking hilarious. I can't stop laughing. He messes with them so much and it's so awesome. Makes them all sound so stupid.

Yea but they are encroaching on those families rights. I think that those families have a right to have a peaceful quiet memorial or funeral with out fucks like WBC taking that away. You only have 1 funeral.They are just their to provoke people. Funerals and memorials aren't the places to do theses things.

The Westboro Baptist Church does not believe what they are doing. It's a scam.

It’s a business. They travel the country, set up websites telling you exactly when they’ll be there, and using the most inflammatory statements all over the place, just to get someone to violate their rights for profit. Then they sue the the police force that was to protect them, and everyone that is around them for money. It is a trap to get people sued. Almost every member of his family seems to be an attorney. WBC does not break the law. What they do is try to make you break the law by trying to punch your sensibilities about everything you hold dear, and then sue you and everyone municipality around them to the max.
 
As much as this makes sense, Civil lawsuits are public record, and I can't find anything justifying this theory. They do win some money from lawsuits but nothing close to their $250,000 /year spending habits.
 
We all know that the Shooter was actually part of a plot created by Obummer to stir up support of the new Gun bill thats coming into voting this month. Why do you think he had such good gear and assault weapons. It was all planned, and he did not act on his own.
 
This all just makes me feel so wrong I honestly haven't even been able to follow the shooting because it makes my heart so heavy. All those poor families and that shooter's life has prob been so horrible that this is how he seeked attention (no excuse for killin people).... I just feel sorry for everyone
 
There's no evidence to suggest that as of right now, and what we do know actually suggests he had a pretty good life.
 
Living with his mind must be horrible. I've been watching a bunch of serial killer documentaries because of the user meghan. got me hooked but its just such an unpredictable thing to do...... I'm not going to follow this story because it just makes me feel so so so horrible and now that the westboro baptist church is involved it just makes me sick...

Karma and good vibes to all the families that lost their loved ones to an unpreddictable unprevoked satanistic man who doesn't value the human life. If there is a heaven, if there is a place after this life I hope they are all up there having a good time.
 
Every Westboro protester should be forced to look at photos of the victims and the crime scene. If they can see that horror, and still want to exploit it for their own bullshit gains than so be it.

I wish people would just look at them like the absolute scum that they are. They need to be ignored. They are simply seeking attention and controversy and people play right into that.
 
Considering what they have done in the past I'm guessing they are pretty insensitive to that.

As for an example I'm studying medicine and believe me the gruesome pictures in my textbook and the things I've seen in real life go beyond what TheYNC and Rotten have to offer and now I'm just unfazed by gore.

But for a lot of people, If a loved one who just passed away in an horrific and gruesome way is then being taunted by them most people snap really quickly. Their emotions are already running very high, reasoning isn't the first thing on your mind then.
 
Did anything happen when wbc came to town, then? Haven't heard any results but i'd like to take care of them stifmeister style at the end of American Reunion, if they truly are there to sue for cash
 
Lawrence just did a pretty good breakdown on page 2, and it's pretty sick. They literally just do the worst things they can think of in an atttempt to get someone to do something they can sue for. Anything. One misstep by the police or city and they'll sue. One loogey froma spectator and they're suing. It's pretty well known that they're all fakes, and completely evil top to bottom since their evil mask is just a coverup for their possibly-even-more-evil true motive.

I still want to waterboard them all with hot deep fryer grease and then send them through a wood chipper though. That much we can be sure of.
 
They need to be locked up and foreced to watch all the pain they have put families through and how much pain they went through before death
 
Or how about the hate that they fill their kids' hearts with? They may be trolling but this is all these kids know. Hate, hate, hate. How sick is that? The whole situation is just horrible through and through.
 
Eventually someone is going to snap on those people and they will be an American hero. This Colorado thing could very well be that event too. People are in no mood for this shit.

Even hateful speech is protected by the first amendment. No matter how tasteless, and cowardly their message it must be protected by the first amendment.

I think it could be argued in this case though that their presence would be equal to inciting a riot. Kind of like shouting "fire" in a crowded place, which can be prosecuted. I think the police may be able to remove them for this reason?

Killing someone for their views and opinions is absolutely wrong. Period. If they act with violence or infringe upon your rights then it's a different story. But a protest should always be protected speech, no matter how reprehensible.
