I have skied both and I would have to say west is were its at. Not because the skiers are better, but for the fact that the terain and snowpack are hands down some of the best in the world.

ya west is better but how many times has a post like this been posted?! east doesnt get as much snow we all know that, but it still rocks...

don't any of you guys get it? i was, and still am sometimes stuck on the east coast. no shit west coast is better, if all of us east coast riders had a chance in hell we'd all be there. do you really think anyone wants to ski shit for 3 months out of the year? we're stuck here. i'm lucky and get to ski utah a lot, most ppl can't tho.

Jay peak in vermont has the #1 glades in America and averages more snow than many many west resorts. If jay weren't in the east, i'd say obviously west, but jay's here so its a tie.

 
Jay holds it down for the east. But here's my take on it: The west has better skiing, snow, sun, vert, everything. But the west and midwest has more core skiers because they'll ski in the crappiest conditions and still have fun. What west guy is gonna ski ice in the rain when he gets powder in the sun most of the year? Easterners ski when they can.

So, if this were a rap feud, I'd be with biggie, not Tupac.

 
You may be able to say east coast skiers are tougher because they land on ice, but you can also say west coast skiers are tougher cause they huck off huge cliffs....its always up in the air, but west coast is where its at.

everyone in the east is in a pissy mood all the time (myself included)... just something about this place - everyone is pissed off at something but we don't know what, all trying to be somewhere else doing something else.

west coast is just more laid back, and just better overall.

yea obvioulsy the west. But the only good thing about skiing in the midwest or east is the shittiest season out west is still an awesome season to someone used to a 200 foot hill that gets 15 inches of snow a year
