Baker City Oregon. Hit it up on the way back to Portland from Idaho. Great beer, cheap lodging, and a short drive to Oregon's highest base area and some of the best skiing anywhere.

Go to big Sur in cali. That place is wicked. There's hiking and stuff and if your into surfing willow creek is in big surf (I think) and has some good swell. All in all, that place is beyond beautiful. Beachs, coves, breaks, forests. Must have on a road trip. (Also, at night, it's a good place to longboard.)

best of luck!

I am curious on why you listed Idaho instead of Montana as the reason to travel North. I skied for a season in Idaho and it was great and all, but Montana is just a bit bigger. I am sure you can get plenty of information about the skiing spots... So I will move on.

If you end up going through Washington State you should put Leavenworth on your map. It is a really cool town with tons of climbing opportunities and Stevens pass is right up the road.

Otherwise, drive back to Portland on the WA/OR boarder and hit all the skate spots. Walla Walla has a nice bowl by the CC, but its a bit out of the way. Hermiston has one that is alright and Boardmans is really meh with a few ramps. Irrigons park is nice so that would be a good stop. Also, I cant stress this last one enough... Go to hood river! Its a sweet town and the skate park is really sick and unique. While you are out there drive south and check out Mt Hood. The windells skate park is sweet , but I am not sure how they react to drop-ins.

Best of luck getting everything done in three weeks!
