Went to ober today

Any idea when they will have all the runs open? and are they keeping the park where it was at a couple of weeks ago, or moving it back to where it was last year?

probably really soon. you will probably see the park on alpine in the next few weeks, and grizzly following. That's my best bet, and yea the park is going back where it was, but with a bigger area for more features

but seriously I meant that they will be opening grizzly for a run after the park goes on alpine. I did not intend for it to sound like grizzly would hold the park

I was in Gatlinberg visiting my girlfriend for most of January and she took me up to Ober but I didn't ski, I didn't come prepared at all and didn't have time to get stuff together, but was quite surprised with the ski area. Coming from Alaska, I was pretty ignorant about the skiing in the south, but Ober is a decent little place, not a ton to do but it wouldn't be hard to make due with what you've got there. I wish I had had my shit together and actually rode just to say I did it and so that I could see everything there. It would have been fun. Maybe next time.

Glad to hear you had a good time. yea the mountain is small and the snow is only good for a hanful of days, but we try to keep things they way they should. Nice park for a small mountain, and I would say that our toughest trail in its peak is one of the best ive rode in the SE...just a little short hahaha

Sunday is the last day, and Saturday they're having "Spring Fling." Which is a fun little comp/hang out day and the Scion Snow Tour is coming up too... I believe.

Nope, just came home Ryan, I think everything is cancelled due to thunderstorms this weekend. Scion is cancelled and so is pond skim. I dunno about 4frnt demo and I think tomorrow may be the last day, park is hella dope though I recommend people go for tomorrow

def wanna second Paul on the park at Ober!
Those guys have a setup that is above and beyond what the actual mtn. of Ober is (a tourist attraction for those who have never been skiing...sorry Paul, but you know it). They change the features up a lot too, so there is always new stuff for me. Can't wait to see what they have in store for next season, especially since I'll have my season pass.
The mountain itself sucks, cause it is small and filled w/ alot of people who have never skiied before, but it's the closest mtn. to me, being about 45 mins away. and a season pass is pretty cheap if you buy ahead of time. I wish ober would work at making a few more runs. There is a lot of land around the trails they currently have that could be developed. Sadly, money is the name of the game and Ober isn't gonna invest all that money for new trails when most of the people are happy enough w/ how it is now.

I guess Cataloochee and Beech mtn. are the next two closest to Ober. If anyone is down to go on a Friday or even for a weekend lemme know. I'm all for it!

oh...welll Mr. buzz killington over here is just busting everyone's balls today

damn, didn't know that. Looks like I'm about done for the season then.

App and Sugar are open, and I dont see why beech doesnt stay open they got snow the othr night and have had blower weather
