Wells wins olympics

The appreciation thread for Jossi & Beau; the true winners of Sochi 2014.

Together these two managed to bring an ungodly amount of style and stoke to the Olympics. Runs of zero spins, some of the sickest rail sections and pipe runs.

My thanks and appreciation go out to them for making the olympics AWESOME.

I completely agree. Jossi with zero spins and nose taps in pipe and Beau with an unreal rail game. Really showed that its about having fun and not everythings about a medal

Couldnt agree more. seeing the whole wells clan up on the deck before all the boys runs was awesome. It really showed how awesome freeskiing can be for the whole family and not just a niche thing for teenage kids.

Jossi caught on a rail missed the next two features then did three huge zero spins and got a fifty that's pretty difficult. People who landed their runs with dubs did worse scores

Yeah, killed it in the pipe and on slopestyle.

Think Jossi got robbed in pipe, honestly. Should have taken bronze.

hhhaha NS aint nothing to fuck with

Jossi no poles in big air.. switch triple cork... I have some skis in mind for that type of stuff.

Tbh, I actually thought he looked a little hunched over and uncoordinated but he still pulled it off well. Very, very nice.

What I've learned from the Wells brothers in Sochi:

1) Pipe skiing needs more Stale grabs.

2) Every slope run should have a mandatory zero spin.

3) Jossi has the best attitude ever.

4) Beau is going to be one of the best skiers ever.

5) It sucks that Byron got hurt again.

6) Nose taps in the pipe are the shit.

7) I'll still be happy if I never see another mute grab again.

lol why are so many people acting like Jossi's zero spin run was some big style statement or something. He bobbled on a top rail and the run was basically over so he did zero spins on the jumps

Yeah exactly. The guy gave it is all in halfpipe but in slopestyle acted like he didn't give a shit about the whole event and didn't try at all.

Talk about letting down your country

if youre responding to me:

i didn't think it was some big style statement, it was just a cool way to go about a post-fall run

i said that dude was missing the point because he insinuated that people thought it was about the difficulty

She spits some truth... Dude could have given it his all in slopestyle instead of just fucking around and showing off like a tool

this. He knew there was no way to get a medal as soon as he scrubbed that first rail. why not throw all zeros and stoke out the newschoolers community rather than try to throw a meaningless triple that wouldnt have got him on the podium anyways.

Because you are not just representing yourself, you are representing your country on the international stage - that should be a good enough reason. All the CBC commentators were talking about how he didn't look like he could care in the slightest

i am positive that the next time the olympics come around more people in the ski community will remember jossi's zero run, i mean for fucks sake I already forgot what the podium runs consisted of.

"All the CBC commentators were talking about how he didn't look like he could care in the slightest" fucking awesome!

What a dumb bitch. Jossi's zero spins will be remembered long after anyone else's double flips.

Can we get a super in-depth Jossi interview on what was going through his head to make him ski the way he did?

Also, did he think he was scored fairly?

Holy shit...44 people (probably more) need to get their meters checks....this was CLEARLY a sarcastic response to the news article...

Yes...but when overused as much as they are they become boring. My statement was an exaggeration...I still have love for a well done mute, just got tired of seeing so many, and more so got mad that people who weren't grabbing mute we getting lower scores than those that were.

he fucked up the first feature? why bother throwing down on the rest of it?

The reason why is because slopestyle these days you have to be perfect to win. With one small mishap theres no chance of getting on podium so he wanted to give the crowd a steezy asf show
