What do you guys think we should do for this summer?

I think BOulder would appreciate a list from the suggestion thread. What are some other Ideas for making contact with Boulder. any ideas? grass skiing?
 
grass skiing...no. maybe some sort of summer rail jam (a la wisp) would be cool. and water ramps into lake harmony, obviously.
 
I wonder if they are restricted from using the lake like that, but that is such a sick idea!!!!!
 
obviously water ramps... hahaha you clown. i kinda doubt they're going to be allowed to put all the necessary equipment in to permit that, aka the bubblers in the water so it doesnt hurt when you bellyflop.
 
Thats beat.

Why not just build a whole skate park? We need an all concrete park in NEPA and I think Big Boulder should make it.
 
i think its a lost cause papa

they know exactly what to do. whether it be rail jams, movie premiers, fall festivals, anything. they either just dont do it, or dont tell anyone its going to be done until they actually almost do it.
 
yeah. just cause thats the way it has been, doesn't mean that that is the way it will always be. Emo Ian seemed to be the only one there with the ubber exclusive shhhhhhh - this is for locals only mentality.
 
yea, i kinda agreegree w/ dislocated dan. granted i usually had a fun time up there and the setups of everything were decent most of the time, but the management and staff seems so...clique (sp or some shit) with the kids who ride there. i'll still ride there, it's always fun. i'm just not gonna worry about the shit going on i guess.

which, i guess is all they want boulder to be anyway. a good park, nothing more nothing less. it just seems stupid to me.
 
so where/why is there an unwelcoming vibe happening at Boulder. I mean is it everywhere? The ticket window, the lifties, patrol, park crew, management or is it just a feeling on the slope?
 
well, i mean i have MY reasons haha

but besides that i dont know. its just akward. like having a hot cousin but not blood related.

and most of the negative vibe i get is from the snowmaking/grooming/park managers. Park crew always seemed alright i guess, although i've heard otherwise from diff. people. it's weird, some of the people seem real cocky that work there.

its not just the staff thats cocky. not at all. like, if it stays the same as has been the past year or two im out. im already getting a pass at bc just to see how that goes, because im so fed up with the people at boulder.
 
Word. It's such a clique defined mountain. If you're not in with the main group there, then you're not in with anyone. I almost gave up competing there after my first year, because it was so rediculous. I wish Boulder had Camelback's vibe. It's so chill there, but the park blows.
 
bb needs like.. an anti clique for all the kids that arent in the cool kids. baha. like we just need new kids to come in, ones that dont all know eachother and shit. and ones that dont have parents that all work at bb. hahaha.
 
Hahah, definitly. I've convinced a lot of my friends, and people from CB to head to Boulder this year, so there should be some new faces.
 
Well then just straight up quit babysitting everyone and have fun skiing! hahah Let everyone be responsible for themselves and just worry about how many laps of the park you get in.
 
the vibe i get when i'm at boulder from all the kids who ride there is just like, 'hey my shirt's baggier than yours and i can ride better because of it' kinda deal. like during the comps, they let the local kids just do whatever they want, hike back up and start over if they fall, that sorta crap, whereas if you're not in with park crew and ride there on a daily basis you dont get that treatment.
 
Well?! Any updates on Boulder? Rumors of opening dates? Anything that's changed for this season? ANYTHING! The anticipation of this season is kiiiiillllliiing me.
 
I spoke with Ian about a week ago. He is stoked on the upcoming season. Nothing really new to report. Other than they are painfully aware that a handful of kids are pushing for bigger features. Comp situation is the same. Skier companies are semi resistant to ante up in comparison with Ians rider contacts.

It just seems like that is the way it is.
 
i like the environemnt at boulder so much more than at creek. nobody is ever really an ass hole there like there are at creek once in a while, and all the kids there are there having fun and killing it. its just nice to finally ride a park where i can finally ski without worrying about having a family of asian nyc gapers just waiting to get stomped on in the landing, and at creek there is a lot of hate between a bunch of crews, where at boulder it just seems like everyone minds their own business.
 
You know, once you find the right person/people to ski with nothing else seems to matter..it's really great haha.
 
well the kids i ski with are awesome and were all real tight and we all have a great time skiing together, but theres still hate between a lot of kids at creek, and it still bothers me once in a while because some people even hate on me and the kids i ride with sometimes for no good reason.
 
Ian Needs to Build Me a PIPE that is it that is all i want ( well maybe a surface lift or tow to service the said pipe)
 
I've always felt welcomed with warm, open arms when i come to boulder...then again maybe i just have a thing for rob....=/ anywhoooo maybe its because i'm not there enough but when i come to boulder i feel like everyones throwing down and it's always a fun time for me...but maybe i'm missing something
