Well I TRIED searching for it but.. Google search WTF?

how are we supposed to search the forums? that things sucks, it doesn't looke like the rest of the site and there is so much information that it's hard to look at. go back to the old search function... searching the site for specifics (forums, members, etc) with the drop down.
 
haha whoever thought we'd see the day where people would want the old searchbar back. i trust in bishop and the rest of the NS management. if they say its gonna get better, it probably will.
 
Hah well it should get better, but thats not to say that it will be what everyone wants. I do think we should all give it a fair chance after the site has been further re-indexed. Another month or two and we'll make a final deciscion on which one is going to be the default. Really its not hard to make the old search bar the main, and the google the advanced.

I think the old one was easier to use, because it was just for the site! I hope you choose to bring it back as the default. At least the old one is still there
 
old one was much much easier to find threads. this one just frustrates the living hell out of me. I've given up on it.
 
the new one gets better every day, just try using it a little bit and it organizes things nicely, i don't like change like the new facebook is ghey but i think the new searchbar is good it just takes getting used to
 
Advanced searchbar, same thing...and if you really used the search bar you would know how many times someone made this thread.
 
The google one only searches the site as well... it doesn't search other sites either.

How about this guys... If you guys agree to stick with it and try the google search bar for another 2 weeks, and it still totally sucks, we'll just switch back to the old one?

Google is having to re-index ~150,000 pages of newschoolers, and we won't really be able to test the quality of the google search until that is done.

So whaddya say... deal?

 
i found the song in the slamina teaser very easy with the new searchbar

it seems ok to me, just leave the old one as an option too doug
 
ye what about putting the google custom search as one of the options for the old search bar!?!?!

seems like best of all worlds then

because its still pissing me off that i cant just search threads etc. easily
