welding

I know this a probably a stupid question, but can galvinized steel piping be welded together. And If i was to have somebody weld me something should I give them a drawing with and specail notes, like where to weld a heavier bond or where not to weld....ect...thanks this will help a ton.

Of course you can weld galvanized steel. The weld is so hot it burns the galvanization right off.

Just make sure you sandblast or sand the wleds and give them a good coat of primer so they dont rust

ECsteeze...galvanized metal is very hard to weld. Just make sure you know that if gives off fumes which can kill you. Must protect against that. only way it will work is if you use a self shielded wire or even a CO2 shielded wire. remember the fumes will are harmful. its almost a rotten smell...i know because i have tried.

Welding is a good to hobby to have. I am welding the new floor boards into my porsche, and they are just sheet metal stamped and that thin shit is tricky. I am used to hug ass welds on thick steel where you can take your time. But the thin welds are harder than anything i've done, but suprisingly they are coming out pretty good.
