I know this a probably a stupid question, but can galvinized steel piping be welded together. And If i was to have somebody weld me something should I give them a drawing with and specail notes, like where to weld a heavier bond or where not to weld....ect...thanks this will help a ton.

 
fuck im trying to remember something from welding class, i dont know if its that if a metal isnt magnetic then it cant be welded or the other way around...........damn ive been out of school too long

I didn't think galvanized could be welded because of fumes or something like that.

It can be welded, you just have to stick weld it. It makes a nasty looking weld, and a nastier gas. I don't know if it will serve your purpose in that the weld can't be ground down to completely smooth without weakening the joint.

Galvanized does look pretty bad when welding with a 220 arc welder. Maybe oxy-acetilene(sp?) would work better on galvanized.

A mig weld would look like crap though.

Don't weld galvenise, it releases toxic fumes.

If you do, tig or mig would be fine.
