Welch Village & Red Bull Present: 3rd Annual SMud Fly!

hey if anyone is looking to buy a pair of skis ill have some dumonts and i can bring them down to smud fly. they were used for pipe all year tell my other pairs bindings riped out so i used them on rails for maybe a month or like 15 times about. there in super nice condition lookin to get about 350 to 400 they got sth 12s on them
 
zomgee! web cam it guys they got the flat down and looks like 3 flat bar sections or somtin layin out on the snow!
 
and a rollercoaster box? on the other side? but with 4 days to go looks nice they got the snow layed out pretty good for a rough look at wehre its gonna be looks epic!
 
this whole helmet thing is gonna mess me up pretty bad. i didnt use one all year so im gonna be so disbalnced.. uhhhg. oh well

We will have a lot of snow for this weekend. Spread the word to all of your friends (even if they are snowboarders). Registration starts at 10am in the main office. Word from the kitchen is that the dish of the day will be Pronto Pups. You can wash those down with your free can of Red Bull.

anyway this saturday will be the last day that i know of to show the ski world what you have learned this year, the set up is gonna be mint since we are putting it together and maintaining it all day long for your jibbing enjoyment so come out and slay shit
 
We had a slight change in plans due to warped plastic on the up down box, and the rainbow rail will be taking it's place. We've started on the setup, and here is a sneak peak...

Most likely should be rapped up around 4 pm. but you know how these kind of comps go, and it may go a little longer.

 
its eithere skiing for maybe the last time. or free pizza and chilling. i say skiing. but thats just me

I hope you can all make it! We put a lot of work into this, and we definately do not want it to go to waste!! See you there!!!!

 
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention there is also a "super kicker" jump in between the rainbow and kink, setup JOI style....
 
And don't forget...If you are under the age of 18 you must have a notarized signature from a parent to be in the competition, or ride at all. Do not forget this, welch is going to be very strict about this, so make sure you get this done, or bring a parent along to sign in front of an employee. Also, BRING YOUR HELMET!
 
Fuck... I wish i didnt live 2 hours away with a shitty alarm clock that doesnt wake me up. Now i have resorted to watching the webcam at welch to get in on the action..

This fucking sucks
 
Thanks to everyone who came out, it was a ton of fun. I hope you all enjoyed the set up! Everyone through down big and it was really hard to decide the winners, but here is what we came up with.

1st Place- Zak Cedarholm ( BS 360 change, BS 270 out on kink)

2nd Place-John Featherstone (450 disaster to fakie kink)

3rd Place- Colten Welch (BS 360 change, BS 270 out on rainbow rail)

THANKS to everyone who came out, not quite the turn out we were looking for but still a way sick comp, in my opinion this was the best setup in a contest i have seen since last years massacre, anyone not there definately missed out big time
 
Everyone was throwing down some sweet tricks. I think i saw like 7 to 8 people do 450s on. Props for Kristen doing a 450 distater on the kink rail.
