Weird shit that apperas on my base's

So whenever i ski at my hill my invaders (this yrs 08/09) I get this really weird white shit on the bases of my skis. It is usually near the edges and it goes up and down my skis. At first glance you would think that the bases are just dried out because that's almost exactly what it looks like; but you can literally scrape the shit off, all i do is take an SOS pad and it comes right off, but after a few hours of skiing it comes right back.

I went to my shop and they said it from some chemical based lubricant that my hill uses in their snow guns (I live in the Midwest so our entire base/snow is made up of entirely man made snow). I am pretty sure that is what is causing it because I skied at entire week in Tahoe and had no problems, but as soon as i came back here the problem aroused again.

I am pretty sure that this shit is causing my skis to slow down; because even after a fresh coat of wax my skis I still can barley clear the smallest jumps at my hill. So I am wondering has anyone else had this problem, and know any solutions. I know i can just scrape it off, but i am looking for a better solution. Also i am pretty sure this problem is just isolated with invaders; cause none of my friends who have other line skis have this problem.

Thanks

your bases are drying out, they need to be waxed. go to your shop and get some ch 8 or 7 wax, its a good overall wax and put a few coats on and try to do it once a week itll help a lot.
also i only read the first paragraph so thats based off of that

nvm im probs wrong, but more wax never hurts.
if it can be rubbed off(no homo) then im not sure whats hapening.

Like at first I thought it was because the bases were just drying out, but ive waxed my skis twice so far and once by my shop, and not that shitty on the hill wax, like legit iron and scarpe off later wax shit. Like i waxed my skis friday night, scarped them off saturday morning, saturday night after skiing that white shit is back.

Id get some pictures up but my skis are at my friends house.

snow?

jk, i dont really know. maybe ask around your hill and see if anyone else has the same problem?

its edge burn.... wax them if its really dry have a shop tune then so they can remove the layer of dry base

That happens to my 09 invaders too... but i live in montana and i never had it until i went to tahoe...

We use a chemical called SnoMax at our area when we make snow. It's apparently made out of insect exoskeletons or some shit, but that may be what you are seeing. I've noticed a similar thing happening to some peoples skis around here but I always just passed it off as them never waxing their skis.
