Weight loss questions

BWAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... Holy shit it all makes sense now. PS you're built like a bag of milk.

Cali has it. It's a math problem. Cardio just works to burn fat for 99% of the public because it's sustained. Thanks for the rant tho.

It is very hard work and you will hate it for awhile that's for sure. I wanted to quit SO bad after my first week of what I started but didn't. So glad I didn't quit.

He went from being fat Greg to GREEEEEEEEEEEEG, THE MURDERER OF FAT AND ALL THAT YOU HOLD DEAR! THUNDER AND LIGHTNING PERSONIFIED!

In all honesty, I'd rather have you think I'm a fat fuck than post a shirtless pic of myself on the interwebz. It's just too douchey.

haha i did the opposite of you, i am 6'4" and after my shoulder reconstruction i addied out and got great grades but also dropped down to like 145-150lbs. finally got back after it 6months after surgery and in about 9 months got up to 200lbs with less than 7% bodyfat. Most of that weight was regained quick from muscle memory, but the last 20 were all new.

It all depends on how bad you want it...

I started eating better and I started doing this stuff:

Fucking sucked for awhile as I was getting my ass kicked. Go ahead, call me gay for hugging and doing that stuff with other guys that don't have a shirt on I don't care.

I changed my diet too. Cut out pop/sugar in general. Breakfast consists of an over medium egg with some roasted chicken and apples, lunch is steel cut oatmeal with blueberries and plain yogurt on it, and dinner usually is some type of chicken or fish with lots of green vegetables.

Then kindly get the fuck out. If you have no practical experience then why do you continue to speak? You obviously do not know of what you speak.

Haha, no, my nickname is still Panda and shit. Doubt it will drop either cause whenever I walk out to the ring I am usually laughing cause I use something like this for a walkout whenever I am not using Clint Eastwood "Dollars" trilogy music:

And then I do this:

Cuddly, kinda silly and stupid looking then I destroy.

Why is being shirtless gay? I take my shirt off to go swimming, does that make me gay? no.

You're a kid who runs his mouth and is actually a weak piece of shit who does abs 3x a week. It's okay, just stop denying it.

yes, you just started 4 different martial arts all at the same time. all with nearly the same goal. i call bullshit. iv done 3 at once and they were atleast all completely different styles. (tae kwon do, judo, hapkido.)

i dont doubt that he trains and all, but why would he do FOUR different types of grappling? it would be more beneficial for him to do only 2, but spend all of his energy perfecting those two, instead of trying to learn too much at once/

When your goal is this you want to be specialized in something.

So, again, why do you call bullshit? My gym has a BJJ class that is taught by a BJJ AND Judo blackbelt. Learn the Judo for takedowns, learn the BJJ to finish the guy off. Then there is a Muay Thai class I do. Then the MMA class itself is taught by a former Greco guy so we learn the throws and positioning from that too. And why would you learn something useless like TKD or Hapkido?

There is only 3 different types.

-BJJ is for fighting on the ground. Positioning from the top AND bottom and the ability to finish the fight in both those positions

-Judo is about getting the fight down. Only problem is, that while you can still use a lot of it there isn't much outside of the throws and many of them become MUCH harder to use without a Gi coat

-Grecco is basically to supplement the Judo. They don't have a Gi and you don't grip the singlet either so you can use more of the traditional throws easier PLUS it teaches a lot about how to control a guy once you get him down.

because the TKD gym i trained at was amazing, and it was in no way shape or form useless. im talkin 3 3 hour classes a week, me and a buddy would go 2 hours early (we knew the master very well) to train, and i would run or bike to and from every day (few miles each way). when you have a good master and lots of training it is very good, i never lost a fight in any tournaments i went too.

oh and yeah i know hapkido sounds gay because its technically a "self defense" class, but its basically 101 ways to kill somebody trying to punch you. pretty badass if you ask me.

oh and i wasnt really trying too hate when i made the "bullshit" statement. lol i tend too say things that come out differently then i mean.

Oh, I thought you were taking both for like non TKD or Hapkido comps. Bas sums it up nicely when he talks about Aikido:

Also, if you want an awesome self defense course look up Bas's video on bar fights:

Ban dang dang ga dang.

nah im not really into the whole MMA thing, mainly because its become way too much of a pro wrestling fanatic type thing. btw anybody into fighting MUST read the book "A Fighters Heart" by sam sheridan. im currently reading the second book "The Fighters Mind". both really imformational

My personal favorite is "The Book of Five Rings" by Miyamoto Musashi.

Also, though you may not like MMA you can't say that this guy isn't fucking awesome:

understand the calories and contents of the food and liquids you are eating
get a gym membership. you feel great after a week or two of hitting the gym. you start to have more energy, and you want to just be more active.

I say don't get the gym membership and find something where you have a trainer with you all the time. Going to a gym on your own can sometimes be kinda intimidating. It was for me, that's why I choose the Martial Arts/fighting route.

No, taking your shirt off does not make you gay. Saying to someone that their opinions and input for the OP are meaningless unless they post shirtless pics of themselves getting all flexy ABSOLUTELY MAKES YOU A HOMO. Especially with how fast you went there... Kinda creepy actually.
I would waste more time arguing with you about who's fatter but I have to finish packing for skiing for the next 4 days... and cram in like 87,365 more crunches before I leave of course. What can I say, I'm a weak piece of shit, it's my life.

I think being that uncomfortable with your body is kind of weird. They're pictures, I'm not asking to see your dick. If not, whatever that's fine too just don't chirp people when in actuality you're not a very fit person.

Fuck my kickboxing coach... he can go to fucking hell. He wants me to do shit like this:

My fat ass can barely even do a regular headkick.

i typically agree with your posts, but that last part is fucked.
regardless of your little beef with this kid, core strength is ridiculously important in not only a lot of sports (skiing included), but as a contribution to an overall in-shape body. as someone that's really passionate about fitness, has helped many friends lose tons of weight and gain muscle, and has personally gained about 40 pounds of muscle in the past 5 years, its fair to say im not some "skinny bitch" trying to get a 6 pack all day. but at the same time, i work out my core everyday along with my other lifting regiment and wouldnt have it any other way. because im a naturally slim build and lifting makes me more cut than huge, i have toned arms, legs, and back, so why wouldnt i treat my core the same way?
core strength might seem like a novelty to you, but being able to squat 500 pounds seems pretty useless to me outside of football and other high-impact sports. to each their own i guess, i just wouldnt bash on everyone with a 6 pack.

squating and pulling big weight makes your core a hell of a lot stronger and more stable than crunches. Dont worry, if he is squatting that much or pulling that much, he has a super solid core.

Im sure you know this but Core is Abs AND Back. they are equally important.

first of all, i said nothing about doing crunches.
i know you have to have a strong core to properly stabilize squats and pulls, and i know that squatting and pulling are great and often necessary exercises, i was particularly commenting on the uselessness in your average joe building himself up to squat 500 pounds. it just seems inefficient to become that massive unless you're using your newly attained strength in an activity that fully requires it.
and yes, i know the core is made up of both abs and back. all i was saying is that if you're going to work the core muscles of your back, it'd make no sense to avoid equally working the abdominal muscles that make up the rest of your core.

This is another one I was told by my coaches and I don't know if it has been mentioned.

Replace EVERYTHING you drink with water. Milk/OJ is OK but try to stick to water. I drink almost a gallon of water a day.

QUICK QUESTION. where do you stand on those V8 fusions that supposedly have a serving of vegetables and a serving of fruit? i usually get those at lunch, and the rest of the time water or tea.

at least 20 minutes of exercise at 70% of your maximum heart rate. HR max = 220-age, so for most of us it's right around 200BPM. 70% of that is somewhere around 140. so just hit the bike, jog, do whatever aerobic exercise you're most comfortable with, and do it continuously for at least 20 minutes at that intensity. otherwise, you're aren't burning fat.
