Hey NS, so im currently putting on pounds and getting hella lazy and fat for the reason that I cant ski right now, and im getting into hella bad shape. Im around 200 lbs, and for my height I should be about 170 ish, prolly less. So im wondering if anyone knows of any workouts that I can do at school in my weights class that will help me loose weight and get into better skiing shape for when I am able to ski. I do the basic 3, bench, squat, clean, and pretty low weight, just working on a tone and working out my muscles instead of getting bulky and shit, thats not what I want, I dont want to be all beefy, I want to be toned, lose at least 20 lbs, and just be in really good shape. Can anyone help me or give me ideas for things I can do in the weight room to lose weight? Thanks NS

And I need some help with dieting. I have a pretty high fat diet, and lots of shit I shouldent eat. I do drink around a gallon or so of water a day though, and no soda.

Fucking eat less fatty.
Seriously though, strength training like you are doing is good while losing weight because you will lose less muscle, but as far as losing weight goes, eating less is most important. Remember to eat small meals often and realize that even small, like 200 calorie per day caloric deficits will cause a fair amount of hunger. So embrace the hunger and treat it like a good thing and you will be less gross looking in no time.

yea thats sounds good. as for the cardio, I get a little, but I guess I should work on that more. I guess I will be doing all the same workouts I wanted to do when i wanted to be big, but with less weight and more reps.

Don't drink soda, don't eat fast food, don't eat a shitload before bed, and you'll start loosing weight. Those are very basic but you didn't give a lot of information.

Height, weight, age, what you normaly eat-drink and normal activity level. Answer them and giving advice will be easier. As far as your lifting is concerned you've got your basics with the squat, bench, and clean just make sure you use proper form.

But hell what do I know I let my personal trainer cert. expire this year.

This is the thing so many people just don't understand or don't want to understand. It's impossible to lose weight without feeling hungry.

Not true. Though I do crave junk food once in a while but when I'm cutting weight I don't get extra hungry. I just take my daily amount of food and split it up so I eat between 6 and 8 meals a day. Usually I'm either full or don't feel like eating anymore.

Yea I just realzied after I read over what I said that it wasent really good enough. Im 18, around 5'8, and about 200. I have about 20 % body fat, and I dont drink soda at all anyways, just a gallon of water a day. I usually dont eat lunch, just for breakfast it could vary from cereal, to peanut butter toast, to a quesadilla. For dinner it could range from tacos, to burritos, to steak salads, overall pretty heathy. But its all the snacks that I eat throughout the day that fuck me over. And I workout every other day with a 10 minute run and then bench squat clean and then aux after that. Thats about it for exercise until I start skiing again.

this and chew threw a can of grizzly wintergreen every day.

not entirely sure about the second thing but some wrestlers at my school dip to meet the weight cut off.

It's because dieting in America is all about stupid fads diets that don't tackle the root of the problem that we eat too much. That's why the US is so god damn fat. Just because a piece of bread is whole grain doesn't mean ten of them isn't too much.
I think it also is due to the fact that there is a lot of $ in the dieting industry, but lazy people do not want to pay to be hungry so the people who write books and shit focus on other less important stuff like what to eat rather than how much. Sure, some foods will seem more filling but weight loss comes down to calories eaten-calories burned. You can lose weight eating only twinkies.

I'm going to give it to you strait. Your eatting sucks! Skipping meals will actually slow your metabolism down. If you want you can PM me a list of what your normal eating and workout routine is like and I'll give you all the help I can.

I would be pretty surprised if you are 68" and have 160 lbs of lean body mass. You are probably more than 20% body fat. Also, eat more often. Skipping meals causes you to gorge and also decreases your physical performance including in the gym.

Calories in < Calories out
You could eat twinkies and lose weight if you wanted. Just look at something like Muscle and Fitness's website if you are getting bored with your workouts. It really isn't complicated at all to lose weight, serious performance is another story.

Do some cardio and combine it with the weights you are doing. Keep drinking lots of water. Cut your calories, eat a lot of vegetables and protien.

Find one of these and learn to love it. I shed 25 pounds with rowing when i was in high school. Started using it again recently to get into better shape. 10 minutes a day will kick your ass but you'll see it quickly.

And muscle burns calories naturally. so keep up with your weights.

Very true for people who are used to overeating. Sounds like that's not this kid's problem though aside from needing to cut out the unhealthy snacks.

Okay, I don't like to poop on people trying to get help but that shit doesn't work.

Only way you're going to 'tone' your muscles is by decreasing the amount of fat surrounding them. Heavy weight in the 6-8 rep range is still prime time turkey nigguh.

This. Swimming does wonders. I swam for years, and this is the first year that I'm not competitively swimming because of a shoulder injury. It works your whole body, and isn't as tedious/exhausting as running. Using a rowing machine also works well. I swim laps and row and it keeps me toned and in pretty good shape. Start liking salad if you don't like it now hahah.

rowing is the only sport that originated as a form of corporal punishment, so yes it will get you fit. but if you buy an ergo you'll hate the world and want to kill someone every time you get off it.
my suggestions:1) run2) sex3) masturbate

Make sure most of your calories come from protein and carbs. Not fat. If you keep in-taking fat, you won't lose weight. Every gram of fat stores a ton more energy than every gram of carbs. When you do cardio, keep your heart rate up for a looooooong time so your body is forced to use it's fat reserves. Eat less calories than you burn. Or at least that's what they told us in health.

umm, im a wrestling and i dont see how chewing tobacco would help you cut weight whatso ever? Whenever we are really off weight we will spit into a water bottle during school to have less water weight in our body..but idk what chewing tobacco will do to make you less fat?

No, wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong. You need to get 20-30% of your daily calories from fat. Fat is not your enemy, if you train properly. Fat maintains testosterone, more test=more muscle/strength=easier to avoid gaining excess BF. Red meats, and fatty fish and walnuts and shit. Don't listen to this kid.

You keep your heart rate up for a loooooong time, you're going to eat your muscles. Long sessions of cardio kill your physique.

No, it's not.

There is no different type of better formed muscle created by doing higher reps with lighter weight. That's not how your muscles work, if you don't believe me look up Doggcrap training. Some of the best bodybuilders in the world use it, and they train with drop sets and triples and shit.

exercising is boring. learn to something fun. skate (board or rollerblade), longboard, do something fun.

unless you're hurt and thats the reason you can't ski. then o something else.
