Weight, After Dark, Grand bizzare

I have now seen all 3 movies and these are just some of my thoughts on them for people looking to buy.

Weight

Pros

-Sick urban skiing

-Good soundtrack

-The vibe, colours and filming were all on point especially the colors.

Cons

-Shorter then the other 3, however it didn't take away from the quality

-Not a huge variety mostly urban

After Dark

Pros

-Some sick shots spread out through the movie

-They tried to add a different original theme

Cons

-Personally didn't really enjoy a whole segment

-Soundtrack was whack

-Filming seemed weird with too many angles on one shot

Grand bizzare

Pros

-Lots of sick segments kept me entertained throughout

-Leighs sammy and LJs parts

- Sick park urban and countryman segments mixed together kept it fresh

Cons

- Didn't have a ton of flow or a theme

-Dumonts part was cool but lame at the same time

Overall i'd say if your into urban alot buy weight as it was my favorite its the only movie ive watched were every time i try to watch 1 segment i end up watching the whole thing cause there all sick.

But if your more into backountry buy grand bizzare and theres alot of sick urban and park in it to.

I would only recommend after dark if you already have seen the other 2 movies, there was some sick skiing in it but the intros to segments and sound tracked murdered it for me that one song they used for wallisch actually made me skip his segment the first time i saw it.

This is just my 2 cents feel free to hate or comment if u want.

Seeing TGR's movie last night on a big screen was pretty fucking epic. Also All I can and the field movies are always WAY WAY better on big screen. The bigger the better.

I thought after darks sound track was sick.... Except for the dreaded "friends" song which made me want to die. I really liked the song in the Russia segment, p whites, and Logan/bellmere
 
That song has been growing on me, just because of that segment, not gonna lie. And Logan/Bellemare's song was sick, I love Mos Def.
 
I liked After Dark and Grand Bizzare alot. I honest give the nudge to GB for Leigh, LJ, Dane, Stept Crew's seggys. AD was a more solid film from beggining to end, but didn't have as many moments that stuck with me. And I ordered Weight yesterday and am stoked to watch it. That's my 2 cents. Haha

I can safely say that buying the Grand Bizzare before any of the others is just plain stupid. I will also confidently say that PBP movies will be B grade at best until they get rid of Cody Carter and the big pile of 'look at me' mediocre excuse for shit that he is.

I would buy Weight long before I bought the Grand Bizzare as well.

 
Grand Bizarre had so much potential to be a kick ass movie, but they just had to ruin it with the repeated tricks and "LOOK HOW BAD ASS I AM!!!" shots.
 
and you expect people to take you seriously. You cant just skip a segment the first time you watch it.
 
I've been watching Weight almost on a weekly basis since it came in the mail 6 weeks ago. Love the sound track, flow is really good, I enjoy Shea Flynn's, Nick Martini's, Cam Riley's and Clayton Vila's segments especially. Bonus material is solid too.
 
If your into more backcountry definitely check out attack of la Nina. i saw grand bizarre and after dark, but i just didn't enjoy either as much as I liked la Nina. I was laughing a lot through it and all the segments were sick. plus there was good flow to it. There wasn't any urban in, mostly backcountry, but with some park mixed in. after dark and grand bizarre were good, but they didn't have the flow that i was hoping for. more like one edit after another. -my 2 cents
 
All the the movies were worth seeing I liked Weight alot but that could just be cause Nick Martini is my favorite, After dark and Grand Bizzare were good but seemed to lack Grand was short compared to most films
 
I mean that song about friends has been growing on me. I already loved Mos Def before AD, and I thought it fit Logan and Bellemare perfectly. it
 
You nailed it. The current PBP crew had the opportunity to make an epic film, but they made B-grade ski porn. Stept provides a nice contrast. Cam Riley's Network segment was an aesthetic masterpiece, and it was produced on a shoestring budget. Watching LJ's segment this year, I was wishing it had been produced by Stept and not PBP.
 
Weight

Pros- It was Weight.

Cons- It ended.

Afterdark

Pros- P Whites part. Actually most of the movie was rad.

Cons- Kind of weird flow.

Grand Bizarre

Pros- Leigh Powis

Cons- The rest of the movie.
