For all of you that would like to participate in a local big mountain comp, this may interest you. Weekend Warrior Tour is a new big mountain skiing and snowboarding tour. The first comp is this weekend at Winter Park. Sponsors include Sick Stickz, Fortitude Skis, Strafe Outerwear, Muscle Milk, Bolle, and Powder Addiction. Both gear and cash prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. You have to be 18 years or older to participate. Discount tickets are being offered to competitors, spectators, and media. There is also going to be a fun after party. Here is the website: www.weekendwarriortour.com
Pre-registration online (through Friday night) is only $75, registration at the event is $90. Hope to see some of you there!

oh and who is this on the sickstickz profile? I met all of you guys who started it at breck in the parking lot doing donuts before it was even open, also in the line for the t-bar to open like 2 sundays ago.

I couldn't find one on the first two pages, but I probably wasn't looking too hard.
Looks like fun, but I gotta work to pay off the other big mountain comps i'm in this month (that means everyone's chances of winning just went up significantly as far as I can tell).
I'm sure the winner will get some sweet Fortitude Skis and maybe some flying bacon SickStickz? That'd be 75 dollars well spent as far as I can tell.

that's cheap for a big mountain comp, its not a rail jam, they have high insurance cost for events like this. most big mountain events are in the 125-250 range

Ya definitely cheap for a big mountain comp.
Anyone know what happened to the Loveland stop and how much lift tickets are?

Loveland dropped out at the last minute. They were having some trouble committing. If this season goes well with Winter Park, Loveland will join next season. I'm not positive on the lift tickets...but I think they will be at least half off. I have done some comps in the past at WP and I believe they were offering $30 comp tickets. So I'm guessing between $30 and $45?

loveland blows when it comes to stepping up and committing. For a local mountain you would think that they would have there shit together. Doesn't surprise me they backed out

seeing what ticket prices turnout to be from this first one i may do the one in march. too broke to do this one though

LOL, you probably could've told him it was Ben and he'd never know the difference.

I wish I had $75 + a lift ticket to spend on this. Hopefully you guys get a good turnout. Where's the after party and who's throwing it?

There is a pre-party Friday night at some bar in the village (base of W.P.) and then another one Saturday night...not sure where they will be. I do know that New Belgium is sponsoring the parties!

Word dude. I'll probably be in summit, but probably won't make it out to Winter Park. Should be crazy with DU's Winter Carnival goin on at the same time though.

And subaru, I was joking cuz they're identical twins....

Thanks to everyone who came out for the first comp of the tour! The comp was held in the chutes (the cirque was closed due to 60+ mph winds all weekend). The venue ended up being a really good spot and allowed a variety of skier/snowboarder abilities to pick a solid line. Some real sick lines were throw down and everyone had a great time. I took a ton of pictures, we will get them up on the Facebook fan page in the next few days so you guys can check it out.

couldn't ski saturday so I didn't enter. but I watched from below on sunday and it was awesome. the chutes has a ton of short but good and tough lines.

Super fun contest. Can't wait for march. The chutes were actually really sick. I didn't know winter park had such sick terrain. Everyone should come to the march one!
