Weed may soon be legal in california

Reasons why weed should be kept illegal:
1) Big companies mass grow weed with big-ass greenhouses and destroy the little guy that actually makes good weed. It happens with everything else. We'd get like starbucks weed and all our local "coffee shops" would be crushed by crazy ass market pressure.
2) Government says "Ok weed is legal... but" and then proceeds to limit the amount of THC in weed, tax the shit out of it and basically ruin it.
You honestly think the government is going to allow the super nice weed to keep on growing? I dont.

I hope that made sense.
 
Because if you get a little card you can grow it, smoke it, bake with it, whatever you want.

You can even report it stolen to the cops!
 
you must be getting dank if your paying over 1000 an ounce. My teacher called some kid out for stating that, told him to get a new dealer.
 
1) there are many large scale commercial grow ops already.2)you cant limit the amount of thc in a plant.
 
but if large companies start producing it, they would start putting nasty shit in it like nicotine, and the tax wouldnt work for a while because everyone would still just buy it from a private dealer and they wouldnt tax it, have you ever seen a register at your dealers??
 
quick question... if they legalize it, than why not grow it yourself... this is why it wont be legalized... theres no way to tax all the weed production... look at the way it is today...
 
That wouldn't stop a raid by the DEA. it would just mean that local cops wouldn't be bothered with it.
 
Yep. It'll be interesting to see how the DEA responds if this passes. I mean right now they can do a lot of damage because even though there's a lot of dispensaries given the illegal status on the federal level, there's still few enough that they can track and target them pretty easily. If it were legalized... oh boy. It sucks how much fucking money they spend on something SO STUPID, don't they have anything better to do witht heir time and our money than raid medical marijuana dispensaries in CA? Christ. Again though, I think once CA falls the rest of the country will start coming to their senses real soon. I may just see this in my lifetime. Holy fuck.
 
I'm against it. Why should the government get anymore money, those greedy bastards already fucked up what money they had. They are taking the money away from the growers and dealers. The people need the money, not the govt. Fuck em. I dont care if weed is legal, I dont have any problem with it now, I can get it, smoke it, sell it and grow it with no problem if I like, so I dont give a fuck. If they were to make it legal it would be more regulated, therefore diminishing my chances of making money on it. I'd rather it stay illegal and the black market will do its own thing. They just want to tax the shit out of everything they can.

However, i do agree partially with what you said about it possibly causing some problems.
 
I agree with you but the fucked up part about it being illegal is that people are getting put in jail left and right for smokin a doob and possesion. I think decriminalization is the ideal situation but that will just give liscense to dealers to make money off marijuana without the state or country getting anything from it. So technically thats illogical for the government to do cause they wont be making any money and all these people will not have any income tax. I hate taxes but thats the way the government works.
 
yeah, you're profiting off of it, most people aren't. You're benefiting off of a hugely fucked up system that massively inflates the price of anaturally grown weed. The government needs that money or every other aspect of your life aside from marijuana is gonna be fucked, and probably that aspect too because no one will have money to buy it.
 
You're missing the whole don't go to jail if your are in possession part. You really think the cops are gonna ask for a receipt?

yeah i have no clue why people are saying stupid shit like the quality of legal weed is going to be shit. theres variety in flavour and quality in alcohol and tobacco products. if anything, legalizing just encourages more varieties in strains plus theres also the whole world of baked goods. i would be suprised if this passed, but i think if anything now is the time to legalize it since the media cant stop blabbering about this recession.

i just wanna grow some organic sativa in my backyard... lol
 
Ha ha i'm so glad i don't live anywhere near you. we've had some sour diesel lately here(dank thats straight glowin green) and i'm payin $10 for about 1.5-1.7.

And for an eighth of mids, the most I have EVER paid is $25 and i got a little over 4.3
 
So I Read my post over, and now sounds like the ultra CLAIM. only posted it to show the variety in prices across the country. and sounds like it was a pretty successful proposition yesterday. of course it isn't going to be put into place over night, but at least the idea is now out there for everyone to hear.
 
i highly doubt that any place that hasnt already leagalized marijuana in the world will do so before the end of our lives.. to much controversy
 
i doubt it will pass, but would sure save some tax dollars, not just putting innocent people on trial for such a stupid thing in this economy...

if it passes, i doubt they will keep it legal after the recession. the $50 tax will be effective for a lot of sales, but i'm sure a lot of people would work around it. it would be awesome having public dispensaries though! like amsterdam, but in america. it would be VERY effective in boosting the economy as i see it, hemp would be mass cultivated again like it was at the start of the century, and used for a huge variety of things. i really hope this passes, and spreads across the country, and into canada if it works well.
 
what if this marijuana tax is exactly what california needs to get it's budget balanced?

it could be a quick buck for the many governments that could get involved (fed, state, local, etc)
 
The most stupid thing about that is that its already illegal for local law officials to arrest people based on federal marijuana laws, and enforce and federal law when a state law contradicts it for that matter. But they just do anyway.

So $50 more per ounce is pretty steep, but if it will allow legal cultivation then there is literally no reason to buy it anyway.
 
Even if this law did pass, which would be sweet the supreme court would declare it unconstitutional in about 5 minutes. Cause congress has the right to regulate interstate commerce and no state can make a law dealing with interstate commerce in confliction with federal law. this would clearly apply.
