Weed is good for the earth!

it'd be good for many things, pot smoker or not i have trouble believing somebody can truly believe weed is worse for you than alcohol. Honestly, if anything should be changed from legal to illegal or vice versa, alcohol should be made illegal because of how much harm it does. (I love to drink, so I don't want that to happen, but that is my opinion on the matter). Anyway, I agree that it should be legal, and I think the monetary benefits and tax profits that could be made could certainly help our ever failing government in this moment.
 
the whole situation makes me want to face palm ya know? Like how can it still be illegal when it's such a peaceful activity and such a peaceful side effect that smoking it has on a person? Alcohol turns people violent and awful sometimes....nobody is going to murder somebody or rape somebody or go commit a hate crime when they're high. At least I wouldn't think so.
It's just frustrating. I don't even smoke often, and I never would buy it for myself, but just the fact that it's still illegal when it's so obviously not harmful (the effects of smoking i mean, especially in contrast to alcohol) makes me just shake my head.
 
and to add to that, many teenagers these days smoke. more and more people are realizing whats true and false about marijuana, and the amazingness of it. plus think of all the benefits states would recieve, not to mention the amount of money it would add up.

alll the valid points in these thread are correct but the thing is, when has our government overturned a ruling, such as weed is harmful? just in general im wondering if the govt has ever gone back on their word on something?
 
I do hope people are aware that if/ when weed is legalized there would be an age limit. I think it's funny to see all the teenager fighting to make this legal but they wont get to smoke until they're old enough.
 
yes, but the age limit would pressumably be 18, even though i see why 21 would be thought, i think the drinking age needs lowered, other topic, different time. but if 18 most of the kids fighting will be the age of 18 by time the bills are passed and all the structural foundations are set for weed to be sold legally
 
i see some of the benefits of lowering the drinking age however i don't agree with it.

Look at the maturity levels of americans of the age of 18-21 verse the maturity levels they were back in the day when 21 was a set age limit. I feel that most kids these days are not mature enough to drink or smoke.
 
oh i agree 100% i mean, if you look at the number one killer of 18-23 year olds or something, i think its alcohol or alcohol related accidents, the reason lowering it is for college and insurance reasons, also for the fact you can go to war but not drink a beer with your dad, i know alot of people whos parents let them have beer as a beverage but not to get drunk, it is a sociable drink. but i do agree that the maturity level of 18-21 year olds is basically none, along with the responsability level, what would be a resolution is a higher drinking age of persay 23, there for kids go to college, but its all not of importance, weed was the descussion, and on the case of it being harmess, and economically stimulating i think it should be legalized, but it will take time for that to be accepted, sort not to be racist, like the laws that gave blacks rights, its been outlawed so long that when it is lawful, the general public (non-smoking) will be weary, cautious, frightful, and prejudice
 
I think the maturity level of Americans in that age is directly related to the high drinking age level. If America doesn't treat 16-21 year olds as if they are adults, they aren't going to act like it. It has a lot to do with how the school system is set up and other things too of course, but I think the drinking age has something to do with it. In mainland europe for example, you can drink beer at 16 and liquer at 18. I think thats very sensible as it gives kids a couple years to get used to drinking before they hit the hard stuff. In America, you can't drink at all until your 21, so instead you just start getting wasted when your 14 because you might as well right?
