Weed in wa and co?

Our bud is legal ha. Does the Netherlands allow the personal cultivation of 6 plants, and purchase up to an OZ? Nope. Colorado is on the right track, so is WA. Your bud is probably cheaper since it isn't taxed as much though. Don't get me wrong the netherlands took marijuana legalization up one step but colorado and wa took it up a notch further and that has sparked other countries, states and provinces to consider the same measures.
 
Yeah but the netherlands is a country, so when they make a law they actually get to follow it. Not like in wa where ooh wow we dont get a 100 dollar ticket anymore. You still

get fired from your job. Pretty meaningless without federal support.
 
you realize there are only a few federal protections from being fired right? (race, gender, national origin, disability, religion or age)
 
Its not about the small things. These laws passing has showed the world that people dont want marijuana to be legal and has caused change My bet is in 4 years the federal classification of marijuana will be rescheduled. Plus its only federal jobs that are considering not changing their drug policies, for example the police. And you usually know when you have a urine analysis regardless. Its still illegal in the netherlands to have marijuana. However it is decriminalized. In the netherlands If you get a DUI or into any other legal trouble and have marijuana you will get charged with possession. Its a secondary offense and the penalties for secondary offense are whack if you have over five grams not sure how strictly its enforced though.

What i meant was, until marijuana is federally legal, people that get random ua's at work (construction workers or cdl holders for example) will still get fired for smoking weed even though it is legal in their state.

You thought i was talking about including weed smokers in the civil rights act? You are the dumbest person alive.
 
Oh you think people can't get fired for things that are "federally legal"? You have to be the dumbest person alive. Something being legal doesn't mean you can't get fired for it. The only employment protections the federal government grants are those that I listed. You stupid motherfucker.

 
In his situation, working for the government, yes...if weed were federally legal he could not get fired for it.

no that's not true, even in a public sector job (which he never explicitly mentioned) you can be fired for any reason except those protected by wrongful termination laws. Is having bad breath illegal? nope. can you get fired for it? yep.
 
It's still up to the employeer. UPS drivers can't have beards. Is facial hair federally illegal? Thanks for letting me explain it to you over and over again.
 
Omg you're still not addressing the point. Uas are for illegal drug use- not legal drug use. If weed became federally legal they would take it out of the random screening. Could you be high at work, no. No more than you could be drunk at work but you could do it in your own time.
 
Well yeah but they aren't going to do that. They would treat it like alcohol and you would be free to do it in your own time.
 
The point is you can be fired for nearly any reason and in a lot of places they don't need a reason at all. If weed were legal federally, like say cheeseburgers, you could still get fired for eating one at work.

Ok first of all for the tenth time we are referring to uas- not smoking at work. Second- stop talking about improbable hypothetical shit. I work for the feds and he works for the state gov and we've both been strategy up told by our employers that Uas will still screen for weed until the law is supported federally.
 
It's just ridiculous that you think making something legal has any bearing on whether or not you can be fired for it.
 
What casey said- I get what you're saying but why are you trying to make that point in this argument. Were talking about what is probable not what is possible- clearly.
 
Omg- he doesn't think that in general for anything and everything. He is specifically talking about Uas at work in washington state. They've already discussed how it will/would work this isn't conjecture.
 
They should at least switch to saliva drug testing for hiring / accidents instead of urine testing. Shorter time window and shows if someone smoked/etc whatever in the past 12 hours, instead of a week ago.
