Weed and mental illness

I never said that "weed can not possibly under any circumstances cause schizophrenia." Of course, we don't know anything for sure, and there are always exceptions. I wasn't discrediting you, I was making a generalization, kind of like how Japanese people are goofy as shit. And for a generalization and wouldn't you say mine was accurate? How many people do you know that has had this happen to?

And yes, it is definitely more possible for acid to make pre-existing mental problems arise. You can't even argue that weed and LSD (or any true psychedelic) are in the same league.

i definatley think weed can cause serious mental illness. about two months ago i had an anxiety attack while i was insanely high, it literally traumatized my brain, it happened again about a month later and it was worse, it caused complete depersonalization, and i have little spurs of the feeling of anxiety and thoughts that nothing is really and that death is going to be a constant feeling of what i had went through, it sucks, so, im just saying, people say it wont do anything too you, but it really can, it was the most fucked up thing that ive ever gone through
 
I agree with basically everything you said, except this. While there are no certainties in life, I would say that the chances are low enough that I wouldn't worry about it. I'm not going to go around telling everybody not to smoke because they could develop schizophrenia. Actual psychedelics are a completely different story; the chances are MUCH greater because they are a much stronger drugs with completely different properties.
 
hey my moms a doctor and she says YES. and she also says that its not even being a "stoner" that increases the chances, but even smoking it every week or two socially can dramatically increase your chances of developing the mental illness in later ages. that is just one of the numerous side effects of pot apparently.

it doesn't seem like many people care because when you are in a group of friends that all blaze you dont really call them up 30 years later and say "hey did you get schitzophrenia?"
