website slow?

has anyone noticed this site getting considerably slower in the past few days? I'm wondering if it's just me, but it seems like it's only this website. Like it takes maybe 20 seconds to go to a new page or look at a picture when before it was instant. (I have dsl with a 768 kbps download or something)

 
Over the past couple days it takes an amazingly long time to load the site the frist time it loads only, that or it just shuts down my firefox and then I open firefox up again click on the site and it comes up immediatly. After that I can go through the site really fast. It's wierd too because its only on this site none others. Nopoles do you know anything about this?

i have noticed it has slowed down too and i have high speed internet. none of the other sites take this long to load. whats up with that?

 
too many people logged in (and guests... mostly guests actualy) is my guess. NS problaby doesn't have enough bandwidth for everyone during peak hours.

Yah I've noticied this too. It's not a bandwidth problem, we've got a full 100Mbit connection to the web. The server can easily pump out 6 to 8 gig an hour.

The bottleneck is hard disk I/O. There's tons of database back-end work that goes into loading every page. I've been working on trimming this down as much as possible.

Hopefully load times will decrease soon.

min eis running slow, too. and i usually have a relatively fast computer
