Hey, I need to buy hosting for a website, and I honestly don't know the difference between Linux and Windows, if there is any, so any help is appreciated. Thanks
 
Linux is more secure, but in the end I don't think it'll make too much difference to you as long as they both have the same features (mySQL, PHP, FTP, etc.),
 
You might be using godaddy? I don't know I just picked a big name hosting site. At a basic level everything is pretty much the same. Linux, yes is more secure, but windows is basically the same, until you get to PHP or different coding, also bandwidth etc...

I think those are some main points. Like the guy above me said, unless its something really big or with different language (php, c# etc...) you should be fine either way.

Yeah I am all about the Linux hosting. It seems to be a bit cheaper too. All my shit is hosted off linux boxes... And the guy that owns the hosting company works at Microsoft. haha What does that say about Windows vs Linux hosting?
