Wearing skullcandy headphones while skiing

i see many people wearing skullcandy headphones (like the icon/recruit) while skiing and snowboarding and i was just curious if it stays in place well. don't they fly of your head every time you fall/ have a sketchy landing?

To let you know skullcandy arent the best headphones anyways but if i were you i would go with an earbud and you wont wreck em on a fall.

dont get tis cause you might break them on a fall. but the icons are indestructible and stay perfectly on your head if you put your straps over them

yea it looks dope if you wear em when you ski but there pretty easy to break. i broke the icons last year when i took a nasty fall. i agree your better off gettin ear buds.

the icons look sooo cheap, apparently they stand up well and the reason so many peeps do is because they have a good warranty.

I have skullcandy hook ups on my helmet and the controls are built into my sleeve on my sessions jacket

They will replace your headphones for free no matter how you break them...

As for keeping them on your head, just where them under your goggles and you'll be good to go.

sorry, but skullcandys are the biggest hunks of shit you can buy. people rock them cause they are "in" and trendy. but seriously, they are built shitty, and the sound quality is HORRIBLE. dont take my word for it, look at the specs on um. i know for a fact, that the frequency response on the smoking buds is pathetic. the human ear can hear as low as 20 hz, and you can feel lower frequencies. this is what gives you deep resonant bass tones. the smoking buds only respond down to 100 fucking hz! thats HORRIBLE! 5 dollar koss kmart headphones are way better. i dont know numbers off hand for the other ones, but i know they dont produce very clear audio, and their frequency response is pretty bad. i think what skullcandy as a company is doing is rad, but thier products are subpar compared to anything else on the market. do a little research, learn what the numbers on the back of the packages mean, and buy yourself the best sounding cans you can find, not the ones people tell you are cool.

PS, check ebay, for these guys, Sony MDRVJ700s, and MDRVJ500s. ive had the 700s for 3 years, the best money ive EVER spent on electronics. best sounding cans for under 250-300 bucks, they look dope, pretty tough, easy to repair/replace partsif they break. nowadays you can get the 700s for like 70 bucks, the 500s for like 50ish.

i have returned some head phones in person at there park city location, and they didnt even ask how i broke them. such a sick company

most people have their goggle strap go over their headphones, that way they dont go anywhere.

most people use skullcandys because their a lot more durable than other companies too.

Well the smokin' buds deliver more bass than any other ear bud i've worn. Sorry they are better than 5 dollar kmart ones, i dont care about hz, from personal experience they are very bassy.

I have the skull candy smokin buds and they are wayyyy better than the ones that come with ipods

i have the skullcandy lowriders, you have to wear the gogs so the straps go around them and hold them on. I piad like 5 bucks for a 2 year warranty so when they break im good.

no matter how long after you buy them cuz i got some ti's last winter and they have like one more crash left in em...

I just recieved a pair of GIs this fall and like the way they sound... I havent worn them on the hill yet and i dont think i would as they are too big. I like in the ear head phones for on the hill, but most of the time i ride with out music anyway

I dont wear mine under my goggle strap and they have never fallen off unless i eat shit. And they have never broken when i've eating shit. I have no reason not to be super stoked on them.

that may be true, I wouldnt know. I dont own skullcandys...

however, when youre screaming down a mountain mach chicken, like I mean really cruisin'... how much can you actually hear? and when youre on a chairlift, shouldnt you be talking to the people with you? you know- being social?

I listen to music too, but when Im up there, the last thing Im worried about is sound quality.

just sayin.

when im not wearin my helmet, i rock my lowriders under my goggs and they stay in place fine...

when the helmet is on, i rock these around-the-ear headphones from walmart....there the only ones iv found that fit under my helmet and are still comfortable

but yea rock yo skullcandys fool....cant beat that warrenty if they break!!!!

what exactly is the warranty like? i got some broken smokin' buds, not from skiing, just from being in my pockets and shit. i thought they would replace them for 1/2 off msrp if they break under your fault and that's what mine looks like (not manufacturer defect).

and i agree skullcandy headphones aren't good, but for skiing, who cares. smokin' buds are a good value for ~$9 and a huge step from stock buds too.

retail price:

correct me if i'm wrong, but im pretty sure they dont replace them for free. They only give you half the price on your next purchase of that same model.

Yeah, I think you got it right /\/\ At least, that's what the warranty on my box said. I wouldn't wear big headphones while I'm skiing, just buds, and that's when I'm by myself (very rare). But I always wear a helmet, and I talk to my friends all the time too.

i have a pair of cheap in ear o2's i got in europe. sound great and wont clank when i spill. skull candy's look dope but let the guys like larent favre rock em. but they do look good i gotta admit

dude right on!!!! thats the one i use and i was lookin for a pic to post in here to show you fools and i couldnt find one anywhere

those headphones are money!!

so comfy and such good quality to price ratio

everybody on NS that doesnt have tuneups should rock these in/under a helmet....trust me, they work great

The only thing I don't like about my Skull Crushers is that they stick out alot above the ear cups, the joint is really awkwardly made I think. It's all cosmetic though, other than that I love em.

I can get smokin buds from FYE for 10 fucking dollars, try to complain about that. Other than supporting snowsports, Skullcandy is super chill and their products have an unbeatable warentee. They actually sound better than my 75 sony earbuds did, and those pieces of shit broke after 3 months anyways. As a skier I can think of no other company to go to when it comes to putting sound in my ears.

i wear my icons under my goggle strap, and they are perfectly comfortable.

i think they sound perfectly fine for a 20 dollar headphone

i bought some gi's cuz they were cheap and i was able to give the commision from the sale to a good friend, and i needed headphone, not because they are trendy....i think the real reason a lot of people have them is cuz they are a well known company.

try the noise canceling headphones they make. the sound quality is awesome (especially for the price) and the noise canceling works very very well.

i loved my smoking buds until i lost one of the ear pieces in my size. i have small ears and they are the only ones that fit. sooo lame. can i get a new one for cheap and/or free???

All i know are Skullcandy headphones are shit... My buddy who knows a lot of his headphones, bought a pair, and after buying them, he regret buying them after reading up on them. His 3 year old headphones were a lot better than skullcandy. The only reason he bought them cause they looked sweet, (he doesnt even board or ski either.) and I honestly haven;'t seen him wear it once because the quality of Skullcandies are shit. Skullcandy = fad, only way they will conquer this fad, is to actually make quality headphones, instead of making shitty headphones and overcharing people who are willing to buy their product.

Another thing, expecially abnout the smokin buds is that they are great at keeping outside noide. I can seriously weedwack and listen to music and not hear the weedwacker at all. It is a problem though because if I have both buds in, and I am listening to music, I cant hear my parents at all, even if they are yelling at me to do somehting, and that makes them madder.
