Wear Your Seatbelt....

I just found out that 2 girls in my grade died last night because they were driving drunk and crashed. If they would have had their seatbelts on there is a chance they'd still be alive today. WEAR YOUR FUCKING SEATBELT, it takes literally 1 second and can save your life. soooo stupid...

yea i found out to wear my seatbelt when my brother crashed when i was in the car and got banged up pretty bad without wearing one

my cousins best friend and basically my big brother died because he wasn't wearing a seatbelt. its horrible, and i still forget to wear mine most of the time. horrible habit...

well some times not wearing one can save you too, i know this guy who rolled his truck six or seven times and he ended up ejecting out the side window. The Ems who treated him told him that he probably would have been killed if he had his seat belt on because the roof cave in pretty hardcore. But its all a gamble, best bet is to buckle up

i just dont wear mine cause i dont want to there anoying if i die then well cant do nothing about it everything happens for a reason soooo.........

yes because fate has a lot to do with your dumb ass taking 2 seconds to put on a seatbelt.

i got in a little accident without one on, no damage done but that was plenty to teach me to wear one always, i feel weird if i dont put one on at this point.

good logic. "if i die because there i didnt feel like putting on my seat belt, well cant do anything about it" except put on a seat belt in the first place.

if you did die and everything happens for a reason, then the reason you died would be because you were to stubborn to put on a seat belt.

i lost a friend i knew since kindergarden to stupid driving. sad shit but on the other hand our neighbor and other childhood friend was going 70 head on into an oncoming car and wearing no seatbelt saved his life... and one of our other family friends got ejected from his truck when it rolled over casuing little injury but if he was still in the truck he would have been crushed to death. i dont know seatbelts are good in most cases... whatever i dont know. fuck it.

Yeah driving drunk isn't cool either, but they paramedics said that if they would have had their seatbelts on there is a really good chance they'd stil be alive.

Remember - Trying to brace yourself in a 40 mph crash without a seatbelt is like trying to land after jumping off of a 4 story building. You're not that extreme. Buckle up.

I always wear a seatbelt... it feels wierd to not wear one now when im in car. I was in an accident like last fall and i hit a ditch going like 55 probably, totalled my car, airbags deployed and everything. I could feel where the seatbelt was on my chest for the next week. I know that i would have gotten fucked up if i didn't have it on. But, you guys are also right when you say not driving drunk would have been the best prevention. I tell all of my friends that if they're ever at a party or whatever and need a ride they can give me a ring. I expect the same from them though, you know? So basically don't drive drunk, get a ride if you need one, and wear your seatbelts. Not that hard to do.

i never forget wearinga seatbelt but when i was in my friends' dads truck the other day that doesnt have seatbelts in the back seat i felt so weird like i felt ii was going to crash

dunno

i always wear mine... think about it people...

your in a giant piece of metal that weighs thousands of pounds going up to 100 mph...

you might want to strap yourself in...

trust me, i am a firm believer in seatbelts, but i was reading something the other day and apparently like 61 out of 70 wrecks in my area people had seatbelts on and still died

same thing happened to me a year ago brandon. I feel for ya bro, at least you werent really good friends with them. It sucks alot more...

yep, they pulled the super dumbass drunk-no seatbelt combo to prove to be super morons. while it's still always said when someone so young dies, it also angers me so much every time someone dies because of something so stupid that they could have (and should have avoided).

RIP, and think twice in your next life.

I'm used to doing it cause when I was a kid if I forgot to put my seatbelt on my parents would slap me and swear at me and said that I would die that very day if I didn't wear my seatbelt. But often now I just forget it. Should wear it more. Not just for my safety but for courtesy. You could save a bed in a hospital if you get in an accident wearing your seatbelt.

i hate my seatbelt cause im short, and it goes right across my neck like a chokehold, and rubs there and is annoying.

but i wear it anyway.

I would occasionally not wear my seatbelt because I didnt feel like it or forgot or whatever. then i was at an intersection on a road that I drive on every day. 20 feet in front of me and my friend, who are in my car stopped at the light, some dumbass poser redneck/prep who goes to my old highschool decides to make a left turn without fucking looking to see if the left lane is clear.

BAM! a pickup truck going 50 mph slams into his SUV, pushing it onto its side. it spins around a few times and then comes to a halt. the pickup's front was completely smashed. all the drivers get out almost immediately, completely fine. the kid is a little dazed and the two guys driving the pickup are fine.

I am a good driver and I have never gotten in an accident or gotten a speeding ticket. but this goes to show you that you can get in accidents that are entirely other people's fault. that stupid little shit would have killed the guys in the truck had they not been wearing their belts.

Seatbelt adjustment??.....Phonebook??

Seriously though buckle up, my oldest bro was a staunch defender of no-seatbelt driving, and it cost him the ultimate price. It cost us the coolest older brother you could imagine.

My brother was in a real bad car crash. The only reason he did not die is cause he DID NOT have his seatbelt on. If he would have been wearing his seatbelt he would have been killed.

It's hard to say what could or would have happened. I just like to look at life like a big odds game, and the odds are more in your favor wearing a belt. Just be happy you can look back on it with him, I got the phone call just as I'm sure you did, but I never got to talk to him about it. Bottom line is it's life and you make your own choices and live or die by em, I don't disagree one bit with my brother's choice on that day.

the moral of the thread is don't drive drunk and buckle up. yes there are some exceptions with strange circumstances where not having the seatbelt on actually helped, but that's exactly what they are, exceptions. your chances of dying in an accident really do go up more than tenfold if you don't wear the belt. just do it.
