Weak Ass Early Season: Sign of things to come?

I hate to be negative here, but seriously i'm getting a little worried here, I was skiing pretty legit backcountry this time of year last 4 seasons and there's barely any snow up high thats natural right now. Then again last seasno was a really shitty Nov. and a phenomenal December so you never know. Just hope global warming doesn't ravage CO too bad. Meanwhile those bastards out in Utah seem to have plenty of snow!?!

Hopefully it mimics last years snow, we had a late opening with barely any snow dec. 2 last year and then it snowed 26 of 30 days in dec., 25 or so days in jan., and same in feb. I'm all for these late start seasons if they produce. Atleast some summit places are open to get your fix in till the goods come.

It's looking like a La Nina year, which means dry fall and spring, and a bitchin winter. So stay positive and don't slash your wrists just yet.

i know im going insane. its 65 degrees in durango, such bullshit. i think i might have to venture out to utah to get some skiing in

It is supposed to start snowing on the 25th for a long time. Supposedly these storms starting up in the Pacific are just going to keep regenerating and giving us consistent snowfall. We will see how it plays out! That same website said our weather would be just as it is now, so I guess they know what they are doing.

i dont know who shit in your cereal but this is the exact same thing that happened last year. winter is gonna drop in december, and its gonna keep snowing till july.

I am just glad Keystone has a sick early season park. When is breck going to get a decent park set up so keystone will not be as crowded?

I hope your joking about having snow in Utah because i live in park city and it hasnt snowed here in like a month and the mountains are pretty bare same with resorts like brighton and snowbird-their just starting to open and it hasnt snowed much there either....im going to CO for my thanksgiving break thats how bad it is here lol resorts dont open for another week

yah but key is rocking their early season park preeeeetty hard. too bad every skier in colorado is crammed onto like 10 runs in the summit county area. i cant imagine how miserable that's going to be when the thanksgiving hordes show up.

I'm terrified to see the lines this week, but at the least both Keystone and Breck are putting their parks as first priority soon.

i didnt say theres mad snow there but there is snow. im in durango now and theres shit here so i was thinking about going to utah. its around the same distance to slc and to summit county but i can ski for free if i go to utah.

hey man, if you're in durango hold tight. That storm over arizona right now is gonna dump on SW colorado

I'm glad I did today, it wasn't really crowded except for a 1 hour period at about noon. The park was great and I tried some new stuff today. Hopefully Breck gets Peak 9 and the halfpipe open like they are supposed too...

stop being negative and freakin out like all the tourists in breckenridge. we had the same amount of snow on the ground last season as we did this season and then breck got like 380 inches. so yeah...

for all the people who say its still not worth it, fine by me please stay at home. you obviously dont care about skiing. im going to keep skiing as much as possible and you just keep on bitching
