WE WON STATE!!!

Mercer Island Lacrosse won the WA state championships 1/2 an hour ago. I was there.

So here's how the game went:

1st half: MI Lax 6, Issaquah 5 or something like that.

In the second half we didn't score for a quarter and were down 9-6. Then we came back in the last 6 minutes, and we were down 8-9 in the last 2 minutes.

We scored at around 1 minute. Then with 2 seconds left, All-American senior Kevin Mahony scores with an incredible shot into the upper right corner of the goal. This was his last game.

way to go Kevin!!!!

but anyways, that was by far the most intense game of anything i've seen all year so far.

Yeah I just read about that on walax. Way to go Mercer.

Too bad my team didn't make playoffs haha.
 
not that it matters or anything...i don't even play lacrosse. issy's not going to be very good next year though. all the good people are seniors.
 
I actually go to mount si high school,^^^ thats pretty cool, i wish we had a lacrosse team. I should have gone to watch it.
 
i heard those long island kids are pretty nasty. like 5 kids from one year in garden city, long island all play at duke

actually maybe but we're catching up to some of those NY lax dudes. We're in the top 100 teams in the US now i think.
 
ahh i love how into lacrosse people are. where im from, NE pennsylvania, nobody even knows what lacrosse is. some kid who moved here from rhode island made a petition to get a lacrosse team or something and a bunch of people signed just to make him happy, so we might get a team next year. only problem is theres like 2 schools within 2 hours of us that play lacrosse sooo long road trips
 
a 15 and 1 season is hardly getting owned, what was yours?

you beat us 8 to 7, That is not getting owned eather, and we beat you guys 5-2 first.
 
Oh and our head coach is from long island, he has been over here for a few years now, we also had two coaches from the east who just moved out here, one from NY and one from Maryland, anyway they said that they were suprised by lax out here.
 
just wondering how they come up with those stats, because for all we know there could be a really good team in North Dakota that no one knows about.
 
but back on to the topic of WA state, Mercer had like 19 seniors 9 juniors and 2 sophmores on their team, Bainbridge Had 9 seniors and a few dont even play, 8-9 juniors 10 sophmores and 5 freshman.

our sophomores next year are going to kick ass too. watch out for steve caditz and evan dawson. Taylor dawson, evans brother playes attack for varsity.
 
congrats, but WA lacrosse has still got a long way to go before being legit. I hate to say it, but even if laxpower puts you at thte top 100 I wouldn't call that accurate. Issaquah got its shit tossed by WRA this year, a Ohio team (a legit top-20 team though, by national standards). I thought WA's second best team would put up a better though.
 
darien CT's gotta be in the top ten somewhere, but i know they did lose to john jay. they finished #3 last year.
 
John Jay just lost to Ridgefield, CT...a good but not great team. Darien would beat JJ more times than not if they played 10 times.
