We Want Your Thoughts: Athletic Apparel

NewSchoolers, we want your help! For the last four months, we've been hard at work developing an athletic apparel line: mainly shorts, shirts, socks, etc (with polyester wicking materials, similar to what you may wear to the gym, or while you're playing football for example). Our goal as a brand is to offer an all encompassing collection. From the hill, to the gym, and around town, we want to offer collections and different branches of the brand for different markets.

So we're coming to you today-

What type of athletic products do you like? Do you prefer paying more, or would you want to see more economical (while still maximizing quality and a life time warranty) products?

one thing i will say, and this is a deal breaker if you make shorts: PUT POCKETS ON THEM. i will absolutely not buy shorts if there is no pockets, no matter how good they look

also some maybe streetwear styled tees with polyester or wicking stuff would be cool. like a mix between underarmor material and normal looking shirts

Put the pockets on the inside though, it reduces all the bounce you get from having stuff in bigger outside pockets.

I would have never though of you doing that, but I can see the (small) market for it. I always wear my Sunny UA shirt when biking or tramping, but it seems like there is a pretty big market for athletic apparel already. Unless you can really make yourself different from the big time companies, your market is just going to be in skiers.

With that being said, if the price is competitive and the quality is equal or (im assuming it will be) better, then i'd say a lot of us will be interested.

Shit like under armour. Seriously tho, comin to ns to bounce off what type of apparel is dumb. Be creative, use your own god damn ingenuity, look at what's been successful recently (under armour) and follow suit.

If you want to be successful with athletic apparel you have to create clothing that makes people think its somehow aiding them in their athletic endeavors more than "street wear" would.

Things I look for.

Pockets not to big so thinks can't rumble around

Strap to tighten them when running and loosen when hanging out

Thinner is usually better when it comes to athletic shorts

Keep them quiet. No bright or flamboyant colors
