basically, the site is starting to explode, and this serever is getting to it's limit. we need bigger, faster, more everything to maintain the site. donate money, get more people to donate, and click on the ads... eveyrthing helps.

about how much money is raised anually by donations? i'm just curious... do you not want to disclose that information?

 
For a while we were getting quite a few donations.. maybe $50/month worth.. but that's really slowed. We maybe get one or two a month now.

You shouldn't just furiously click on banners.. but if you see something that might interest you, click on it. That's probably the best way.

We do need a new server. Our current server has been great, but with the recent explosion in visitors, the site is soooooooo slow at peak times (8pm eastern). So we need a faster server very soon.

We would need to buy about 100 phpwebhosting packages to get the capicity we need.

NS uses over 700 gigs of bandwidth, and about 30 gigs of hard drive space. It's a large site. :)

The ads are gone because they stopped serving us paying ads. I have no idea why, but they just totally stopped. So that's over.

But anyway, visit our sponsors.. don't click wildley, but visit them to show that it's worthwhile advertising with Newschoolers.

Danm, 30gig of HD? You'd probably need a dedicated server which is very pricy :/

I know a place in california where you send your own server to them, they'l plugit into an oc line and you'll have your server.
