We got it BACKWARDS!!!

huh?

switch backflip is self explainatory... no spinning involved. either one flip or two, straight over.

switch misty is skiing up switch, and spinning with a forward rotation. can be done 5, 7, 9, 10+.

rorys switch backflip is him skiing to the jump and doing a backflip but he is switch. he technically spins forward because he is switch but he is doing a backflip

no i get what your saying. with a switch backflip. your flipping forward. but with a switch trick like a misty, rodeo, cork or something, it doesnt matter what direction you hit the jump in, or how its set. it is wierd.

dude i get that.

thats why im saying we got it backwords. because technically he is doing a backflip but he is switch. WELL technically jon is doing a rodeo but he is switch YET WE CALL ONE A BACKFLIP and the OTHER A MISTY (all im saying is it should be switch backflip switch rodeo, or switch frontflip switch misty)

does anyone get my point or am i off my rocker.

dude, just stop thinking about it so hard, its a trick, no sense to confuse yourself. but good points made.

trust me broheem me and a bud were dicussing this on a lift.

the internet can make people sound like they actually give a fuck i guess!

I understand ecaxtly what you are saying. A switch misty is thrown exactly like a cork 7 if you were going off forward. A Switch cork is throwm more like a misty. For some reason the people who started doing them first decided on it I guess.

Ok to better understand this, say the following words over a couple of times...

I AM SOFA KING WE TODD IT.

so you dont get that a switch misty is throwing down the hill (or wat looks like over your shoulder) and a reg misty is also thrown downhill (going under your shoulder?)

umm, I think about shit like that all the time. I'm know i'm not alone when i say that i've discussed this before with friends.

i don't know whos with me on this but i dont even care what the trick is called, its on axis or off, its looks cool or it doesnt.

it's like simons 12, people are like holy shit he did a twelve, yea but it's forced. People get tied up in the numbers and forget to actually look at the trick for it's style, or control.

whats funny is im not even really a park skier yet some of you douchebags are acting like im some kind of FIS park skiing nazi

for fucks sake it was a convo on a lift that i brought to you guys to see what you thought.

but thank you for the people that got what i was saying, or at least acknowledged that they have discussed or thought about it.

and posts like "wtf" are such brilliant contributions to this great site.

i unsderstand your question, and asked it mnyself once, but if you think about it the names are accurate. you do a swtich backflip, and youre just doing a backflip, but going switch.

but if youre doing a switch misty, as soon as you complete even 180 degrees of rotation, from there on out its just like a regular misty...

if we called what we currently call switch rodeos switch misties...a switch rodeo would look like a forward misty

im not sure i explained that well but yeah..

yes yes yes! basically, the tricks are named the way they are because they are the same once you're in the air. a switch cork and a regular cork are thrown completely differently, but in the air, the trick looks the same.
