WDYWT [What Did You Wear Today?]

I'm assuming you're in high school, so I will then also assume that when you came to the US, you based your opinion of our country-wide tastes in clothing based on kids your age and/or Mexican gangbangers. People who are older than 17 (with few exceptions - see TheClap) don't typically dress like swagtastic retards.

Haha, dressing well in europe isn't standard, far from it. Most common attire here is tracksuits and football shirts, just go outside of the major cities. you've got a skewed stereotype of your own continent.

also there are loads of 'brosephs' wearing snapbacks and nike sb's all across british universites. Just follow the drug/music scene in most Uni towns and you'll find them.

Nordic countries dress well but that's cos they have much larger disposable incomes (same can be said for switzerland). With increased wealth comes better dressing, that's obvious. Unfortunately the rest of europe is doing pretty poorly. Germany is doing well but they've never been able to dress well haha.

Honestly outside of the main european cities you don't get many well dressed people. Just like in America you get a lot of well dressed people in the cities, and not many outside.

i feel like more prominently in europe, outside of big cities is farm/rural country. and with that, there's a lot more people who are dressed in the clothing that resembles their heritage. idk maybe i'm wrong, but for the most part in america, even farmers wear much more modern clothing and such

That's a good point, having grown up in Switzerland, Norway and England my view is pretty biased haha.

But still. I'm not pointing any fingers at anybody here, you aren't the majority. And I'm not only talking about swagfags and gangbangers. I'm talking about the general lack of "style". The amount of ill-fitting clothing. Females wearing sportswear and an oversized sweater because they're too lazy to make an effort. And when they do make an effort for a special occasion, they often look like sloots. (Shit that sounds pretty misogynistic, but seriously. College-aged girls don't seem to know the "display boobs or bum" rule)

The older generations aren't any better. Filthy "sneaks", faded levi's that are 3 sizes too big pulled up to their bellybuttons, and an old grey T-shirt tucked in.

And "dress pants". Seriously guys?!

Amazing quote from where I got this picture:

"They’ll team that with a ‘button down shirt’ – Americans make the distinction that the shirt has buttons, because they need to know up front that it will require some effort to put it on. Like I said, North American fashion is lazy, so wearing a shirt with buttons is a big deal."

And I can't stress this enough: I'm not dissing people or trying to cause a shitstorm. I'm not even laughing at americans. Growing up in Europe you're automatically exposed to a whole cluster of different cultures. I mean hell, If I drive for 2 hours I can be in France, Italy, Germany or Austria.

And Europe is where fashion seems to "happen". London, Paris, Milan, Stockholm, etc. are all synonymous with fashion and style. Sure; NY and LA might be known for fashion as well but not to the same extent.

Downvote me to hell, I'm just trying to have an interesting discussion instead of the usual pretending-to-be-indifferent arguments that seem to go down here.

The thing is though, with everything you described in your post, in none of those situations are people trying to be "stylish", They're just dressing comfortably because they are in a situation that doesn't require "dressing up". Who says you have to dress up nicely everyday? Whats wrong with wearing a slightly large sweatshirt paired with sweatpants to just go out to the store or go to class? I don't give a single shit what people think of me, so i'm just going to wear whats comfortable.

i think what he's trying to say isnt that they're trying to be stylish, its that if they did try they wouldn't know how. i dunno, that's what i get from it anyway

I live just a short drive away. It'd take longer for you to find your tiny dick than for you to get here
