ways to speed up progression...

I know the equipment shouldnt make a real difference, but i started the scene with out twins, and my first pair of twins i owned are big and heavy compared to every1 elses. So far, i can do really sweet 180's, and 360's, really slow, smooth and huge. But whenever i try and huck, or get pass a 540, i never make it. And its hard to impress non-skiin chiks with a stylie slow spin, so what can i do, so i can start goin into those bigger spins? Should i really invest money in somethin like a trouble maker sor somethin?

i know how you feel man, i can't go over 540. i can go 180 and 360 with grabs, smooth like butter. i can do 540 safety, but it isn't the prettiest looking thing. whenever i try a 720, i just can't make it around for some damn reason. it seems like there's a big step between 540 and 720, but it could just be me. I would just recommend building a big powder booter with a really soft landing and just spinning as hard as you can off it.

I cant do 720 either, I have got the spin once but I landed on my ass, but I can do 540 with graps. Im bretty sure that Im going to land it when I try it of abigger jump. Oh and my skis are also heavy.

there is no way to speed it up, just ski have fun. by the sounds of it you wont be impressing no snowboarding tricks for a long time so you myswell just move onto somthing else... like your rugged good looks or your big penis...

ya its not your skis its you, just go practice and learn how to ski better. If you can do huge threes then i guess you have a big enough table where spinning wiht heavy skis doesnt matter

 
i just learned 720's and i've been doing 360's for two years. just do a ton. do them off every jump possible. do them off big jumps to get the feel of big air, do them off small jumps to learn to spin quickly....then just step it up. i landed my 720 on my first try ever. i'm 3/3

one way to progress faster is to find the best skiers you know and just ski wit them everytime you go. You'll progress a hell of a lot faster skiin wit people beter than you then you ever will wit people at your level or worse

last year was the first year i really started spinning. it was only my second year skiing actually. i tried one 540, and ended up doing half of a backflip with a 180. i got a concussion. this year i skipped 540, and 720, and almost got a 900 once. so i went on to try backflip 720s. i've landed those...so i don't know what you should do

 
you guys, Your problem is that you are making it a big deal. You have mental blocks that are keeping you from doing the tricks that you want to.

If you tell yourself that a 720 is so much harder than a 540 and that you can't land it, then you won't.

Realize that a 720 is just a slight movement more than a 540 and you won't be landing switch so it's actually easier.

Forget your fears and just let go and do it.

It's all mental you are probably just stopping your head at 540.

Picture yourself landing it, Commit, and just do it.

Mike Hunt was right, style will come later. Just fuck it, huck for now. Once you learn how to throw bigger tricks it is easier to add style into lesser ones.

You can stick to easy tricks that you know and work with style all year long, but progression will come very slowly. You need to push yourself and try things that you haven't done. you gotta step it up, even if that means hucking it your first few times.

Eat. Sleep. Breathe. Ski.

 
About your equipment. Your skis do make a difference but not a big one.

I have the 1080's (171) and rode the scratch BC's (181) in the park for a while.

The 1080's, since they were lighter and smaller spun a bit faster.

But the heavier skis (the Bc's) had more stabler landings
