Waxing skis

I've read that new skis get just a quick wax job out of the factory. I've always waxed my new skis to be sure it was the wax i wanted and the amount is right. I usually wax my skis about once for ever 3 days skiing. More if its icy conditions or i was doing alot of woods skiing.. less is its alot of pow and groomed skiing.

ACLs suck

the wax that comes on ur skis is shit and wont do anything so yea you should. its also good to wax them many times befor u go skiing because the more times u wax ur skis the faster they get which makes skating sooo much easier. and on new skis u dont scrape the extra wax off just let it cool add some more and just keep ironing it in till u wanna ski then scrape.

im addicted to speed but not the drug

YES!!! like he said. the wax shipped on skis id just parafin wax. its the base wax, with no additional chemicals or additives the base coat of wax on your skis is the most important. a good first coat goes along way to keepin your bases fresh for a long time. this is where you go buy the good wax, not the cheap shit. you ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS wax new skis, and dont hesitate to do it more than once, like 2 or3 initial coats, as this is the stuff that really penetrates the ski base, and is the most important.

i looked on google but all i could find was 3D Animation porn-sxmarty6

ECS headwear, hit me up!

First things first: if you get your ski at a shop or straight from the companies it is different. And also it depends on the company you buy your skies from. Most company do wax skis before they ship them to you but some don't. But even if they did, its usually a thin layer of cheap wax just to protect the base from minor scratches. So you should wax your new skis with some good ol' universal wax.

Ok now for the now many times per week you should wax them question. We racers try to wax our training kis once very 2 days of training, and our race skis go for about once every 5 runs (that's how much you do in one day of competition). But for my twins I usually do them once every 2 weeks because I don't ride them that much. But I you ride them 3 days per week and do a couple of hours of riding per day, I would tell you to wax them each weak to get the maximum glide.

wow yuou guys are all idiots when they come from the factory they are just grinded so yeah you need to wax them right away cause there is no wax on them and they are oxidized to hell so what you need to do when you get them is to take like a razor blade or they make blades for skis and draw that across ther base to get all the oxidized shit off them you take like a scotch brite pad and rub that down it a couple times then you take a bronze brush and this opens all the pores in your bases then you take a warm wax to saturate the base to allow for better was absorption then after that get a really cold wax and do that if you guys have any questions about waxing just pm me

"if all your friends jumped off a clif would you?" -my mom "i would if there was snow on it" -me

what is a good wax just to rub on not with an iron or ne thing im gunna buy some and i dont know what brand. the temp is around 32 degrees and all groomed man made what is the best?

^you can get stuff u just apply from a bottle thing and the base absorbs it but its pretty shit, you wont notice alot.Just get some standard wax and use an iron, u can do it quickly in a few minutes.

I got this universal stuff called Swix Glidewax. It's like a rub-on glide wax. It works real well. But hot wax is always better.
