Waxing my rail

so basically i just built my new rail out of metal poles and im just no getting enough speed to reach the end, i know its not my drop in as my last rail, was fine but was made out of pvc.

so i was woundering if it would help putting wax on it, my friend said to put skate wax on i. would this work?
 
I would clean it off really good before you do anything. I used some "pledge" wood cleaner and duster stuff, and it made my rail a ton faster. If you have used that stuff in your house and have gotten it on the floor, you would know it makes it really slippery.
