Waxing my Pipe Cleaners?

congratulations on shelling out extra cash on skis that are no better than a regular pair of AR6s.

The extra money buys you a special racer base that will let you go 0.001 m/s faster than a normal base. Of course, this is no longer true if you don't wax every day, like a racer. So if you don't wax like a prick, you may as well have gotten the AR6s and saved some extra cash.

Regardless, it's an excellent ski and I'm sure you'll feel the difference when you want it waxed.

But yes you do have to wax the crap out of the bases. I do my skis every day. Even if you use base prep you will be in good condition.
 
seriously dont be hatin..thas not cool, but just ride the skis like normal skis, if you race, then wax the bases like all the time
 
was to be a asshole, the pipe cleaner have a slightly difference flew pattern to them, but you are right the differences are small.

you should wax/ tune all your skis regularaly to keep them their best. Also a couple of shop tunes a season keeps the whole ski mint, if you take care of your skis they will take care of you
 
You are a hater. How this gentleman spends his money should be no concern to you. Though I'm sure he appreciates your sound financial advice.
 
Race bases are actually really noticable when you're skiing. I have one pair of skis with them and they haul ass once you hit a groomer. Just wax them every day or two and you should be good to go.
 
SHIT maybe thats why my skis glide like crap... like does the mo2's have race base?, they have ultra-high density base or somethin and waxed once in 2 years....now the base is turning white...I'll check on the site right now...

FUCK, they do: " our uhm base is made out of ultra high molecular polyethylene material. Demanding skiers who wax their skis regularly will be delighted with the perfect gliding performance"...mmhmhh that explains it. whatever, my dad got like 10 box of free holmenkol wax, like every type possible on earth, even cross coutry wax.
 
if i had pipe cleaners id wax them everytime id use them. to want to keep these bases in prime shape.
 
let him spend the money the way he wants..........he said he got a deal so stfu.....personally i'd rather the pipe's cause everyone has AR6's, as for the waxing you said you get to do it for free then do it as much as you can
 
the edges are the same as the ar6.

trust me on this one: race bases DO make it go faster (if you wax of course). i raced and skied park for a few years, and my twins were way slower even when i waxed them the day before. race skis are fast because of the base man, just keep them waxed up and you'll fly
 
yeah. You cant overwax ur skis. It just how much time and money you want to spend on it. If its free makes sense to wax them a lot.
 
rails dont sound very appealing with a ski called a pipecleaner, idiot, the point is to hit the pipe with it, i doubt he'll hit the rails
 
acctually the pipe cleaners do slide on rails really nice and they are much faster then normal twin tips and alot of race skis but i wax mine about once every 3times i go from the shop and put some on by myself about everytime i get back from skiing
 
i wonder how many kids bashing the pipe cleaners have actually skied them? probly not many. dont argue and bash this kid for buying them just because you read online what the differences are.

if you can get free waxing do it as often as you can, theres no such thing as over waxing.
 
Pipe Cleaners are sick...I bought a pair via the shop hook-up dealio and even though they were a tad pricier, its well worth it. You should wax em often, and you should know that if you work in a shop.

By the way, anybody else with PC's lemme know where you mounted em, cause i went about halfway between suggested and true center and they ride smooth, but i think they would feel a little better closer to suggested.
 
does the armada team use the PC's for slope...... that would me rails. which would also mean, they work on rails?
 
any ski works on a rail, its just the PC has thinner edges so they are lighter, but it also means they will blow out quicker, and the race bases are softer than the hard ptex bases on a normal park ski
 
i have them mounted at true center and i love the fuck out of that ski. it is by far my favorite. if you keep it waxed there is such a huge huge differece between it and the ar6. i have last years ar5 and the pc smokes the ar5 when it is all waxed up. talk shit on the ski if you want but go ride a pair then do the same thing. there is a reason why the WHOLE armada team is on them this year. they are that good.

they are much stiffer and hive a different side cut and swing rate

i also have the pipe cleaners and they are AMAZING! easily the best ski i have ever skied. Super light but can still hold their own while charging around the mountain. and the bases ARE super nice and fast and the edges ARE the same as the THalls and the Ar6's. you should do a little research before making claims.
