Is there any particular brand or type of wax that you have been successful with? I know there is like jib wax, race wax, ect. Is there really a big difference between them all?

plain old kuu alpine wax! :D

There are different forumulas for waxes, some being good some being shit. Most are just parafin which is like candle wax. Jib wax is a hard synthetic which not only makes you slide fast, but protects the bottom of your bases. Its the only wax I know of that you don't have to scrape and lasts a long time. F4 is great stuff except it comes off really fast (like 4 or five runs). Hope this helps.

is F4 jib wax? If not, how long does jib wax last?

No...F4 isn't jib wax. Jib wax is a hard synthetic hot wax that lasts about 5 or 6 days of skiing. F4 is a comes in both a paste and liquid version and is a simple rub on. It comes off pretty easily.

Race paste is like F4 paste wax...it works well, but doesn't last very long.

me: anyone want anything from wendys?

andrew: get me a diet water.

ever tried putting duct tape on your skis?? try it sometime with an old pair and hang on for you life.

i would recomend trying some jib wax and see how it works.

Probably the best for what most of you on this site are doing.

If you are skiing all mountain or looking for a fast wax then u could go with any other company just remeber all wax is diffderent for different snow temps. the colder the temp the harder the wax.

dont use the wrong temp wax.

man i didnt even know there was a special wax just for jibbing. does it last longer or something???

Jib Wax is new this year and is exclusively designed for jibbing. It stays on longer then anything else out there. Not only does it protect you bases, but its super slick.

Jib wax is manufactured by Papa Woody and distributed by Omen Productions. You can get some at www.omenproductions.com or ask for it at your local ski shops.

yo yo listen up. Purl wax is where its at. The wax is specially formulated to make your bases stronger so less wear for jibing. It also fills your pores in yopur bases clean and effectively and it is just as good if not better than swix or toko. The difference is Purl wax will increase acceleration (boardercross influence) maintain speeds on flats and after landing jumps (boarderX and Slopestyle influence) and increase dourability and the wax lasts longer than any other wax on the market (slopestyle/jibbing influence)

want proof? Ryan McCoullough won the skierX in the World Freeskiing Championships last year in Crested Butte. He waxed in the morning with a spring wax (warm day on race day). ONCE! The 2nd place finisher was 4 seconds behind. His personal wax crew waxed his skis before each run, and cleaned them with citrus base cleaning solution to completly remove the wax and dirt from the bases after each run. Oh yea, each time they waxed those skis it cost $50 for the amount of wax they used.

A brick of Purl, that will wax a pair of 180 mid-fat skis about 15-20 times cost a meare $5!

you make the call

yeah I just use regular kuu performance wax. for no particular reason other than that's all i can find and i'm not a real wax fanatic. but yeah, i'll def. demand for some jib wax

the problem with super high performance or race wax is it is o0nly desighned to be used for 1 run to 1 day at max.

So u are constantly waxing your skis.
