Im hitting my pvc rail right now and its too hot to water it. Anybody know if surf or ski wax will do the job. I know surf wax adds grip to surfboards but what about rails?

thanks, haha i knew surf wax was probably a little out there

Surf wax is made to give you grip, not make it more slippery. We always just rubbed a block of cheap ski wax on the rail and also underfoot on the skis, it works perfectly

I've never experienced a sticky pvc rail. Your edges might just be way too sharp.

My edges are detuned but my buddy was hitting it with w/o a detune so the rail got a little shredded

I’ve never found wax very effective on pvc, at least with the wax I’ve tried on my pvc.

OP if your pvc is shredded, try sanding it and then polishing with something like an abrasive Scotch Brite pad. I tune my pvc up a couple times a year and it keeps them sliding good.

You can buy a big ass brick of parofen wax at the grocery store for like 3 bucks. People cook with it or whatever but it’s awesome skate wax. Mainly people just add dyes and shape that stuff to make expensive skate wax. NOT FOR SKI BASES
