Wax new skis

i think you should. im pretty sure ive heard from reputable sources that the wax that skis come with is good in the sense that it retains it and stores well, but in terms of performance it isn't as good as what you'd put on

def wait for someone to confirm or deny what i just said though, i don't know shit about wax besides how to put it on (poorly)

I would. The only new ski's I don't wax is ON3P. Because I know they are waxed and hotboxed before they leave the factory.

Thanks alot I'll take them back to my local shop and have them do it before opening day , they said it wasn't necessary but I knew I heard otherwise

I even waxed my on3p's when I got them, but I also wax all my skis at the start of each season after I remove my storage coat and then wax them at most every 5 uses

Always a good idea to do a hot scrape and then a hot wax on any new ski, regardless of the manufacturer. Dirt, dust, other weirdness are on the bases from storage and transport. Best to remove it with a hot scrape and then add a fresh coat of wax.
