is way wamer than snowskiing and you usally don't have to drive for a couple hours to do it or pay 40-50 bucks each time. man its sweet. if any of you have sweet pics or stories post them

waterskiing is awesome for sure. I don't really have any great stories though. Actualy, I almost killed a couple kids once.

The sun was really low so there was this huge glare in the water (couldn't see at all) and I was driving the boat. A couple of kids got the bright idea to swim in the middle of the lake (not even close to shore) as it was getting dark. Long story short, I missed them by about 3 feet and i didn't even see them untill I passed them because of the glare. That was scary

Though you do need a boat which usually cost a lil more than a $40 lift ticket.LoL still very fun none the less!!

yeah the boat thing makes things more difficult but I love how waterskiing kicks your ass not matter what, like if i ski hard for 10-20 minutes the next day i'm soar and tired and have a few bruises from the handle and spray. Thats why I like it better than wackboarding, it takes so much more physical endurance

i slalom, its the shiz. there really is no rush like cuttin the rope down in the course. wakeboarding is just as fun, but i don't get the same rush.

as for expenses tho, buyin a boat is wayyyy more expensive than skiing, hands down.

 
I've been looking at getting waterskis, problem is I don't know which companies make good skis. Any suggestions? I was looking at O'Brien and HO.

Boats are damn expensive, it's easy to spend $40,000 on one. Although renting one is an option if you only ski a couple times a year.

^lincolns on waterskis? hmm...interesting, not sure what to think about that. ya slalomin does not get the same amount of attention cause you dont throw tricks on slalom skis, but if you're thinkin about gettin into, it check it out. i have been watersking since i was 10 and it is a great workout and a shit load of fun.

 
not only do you need a boat, but you need gas for the boat, and boats guzzel gas.

Has anyone here been able to waterski switch?

when we were at lake powel last summer we met some people from vail and they took us out on their boat. wakeboarding is a lot of fun but no one has mentioned kneeboarding yet. i think its a lot of fun too when you get dual ropes and you have spray-wars.

Has anybody waterskied on a river? My family has a river boat so I think I'll try it, might hurt though if I fall in shallow water.

if you get like 4 or 5 people on the boat gas prices aren't too bad but yeah the boat is the essential part but I've gotten to ski behind some amazing boats this year and it'll blow your mind the differnce a good boat will make.

for the person looking to buy waterskis are you looking at 2 skis or a slalom ski cuz if your buying 2 skis make sure you get one that has a rear foot binding on one so you can get into slalom skiing. connelly is one of the top brands and HO and Obrien are both very good

ya you can waterski switch pretty easily, especially on trick skis (no fin). however, it looks pretty retarded.

 
knee boarding was fun until i jumped the entire wake at age 14 and then bounced, and then crashed so hard it ripped my bathingsuit open from the top of my ass down to my balls! oh not to mention making it feel like i'd been gang raped by those huge cock black guys that all seem to work in porn! ouchy.

 
yeah you can do a lot of "newschool" type stuff on a trick ski and its hard as hell also and takes a ton of skill and talent to do it BUT it looks super gay! haha

knee boarding was fun as hell untill it bored me...barefooting is the way to go, they have some tons of tricks, at the moment im learning backwards deep start, i can get the first part but getting up i cant yet

oh ya those of u looking at waterskis, connelly is good and so is obrien, KD and uhh HO, my dad have the KD7000 i think? i dont remember now but its a sick ski and fast too and i like

40-50 dollars will be how much it will be to fill it up every day, almost every day cause i go every weekend and every other evening after work with dad
