Waterproofing Hoodies

Has anyone had any success doing this. I know its possible but i cant find a way to do it myself. I've heard it possible to do with silicone spray but i dont want to lose the breathablilty of the fabric. would the replacement waterproofing for jackets work?

take a giant plastic garbage bag and pull it over your head so it covers your whole body. dont put any wholes though, it'll let the water in

soak in gasoline and then dip it in wax......... waterproof as fuck..
just don't smoke with it on.
