Waterproof Walking Jacket

So I had a tresspass Jacket that I used for doing some walking challenges last year, and also just as something to use when it rained however, the waterproofing went stupidly quickly on it and I took it back, I only spent £45 on it, so I wasn't expecting much, but I was expecting more than I got out of it.. I live in Britain, so it tends to rain a lot. especially where I live hahaa.

Just coming up to winter season, but I want to buy one before it gets to winter next year, and for the odd rainy day here at the moment.

I'm looking to spend anything up to around £100, which is around $160 I think, not entirely sure.. I've been looking at North Face / Jack Wolfskin / Berghaus jackets, but just need some advice from people that've actually had experience with such things.

+k for decent answers.

Thanks :)

Honestly, the Northface Venture has been awesome for me. VERY waterproof and very breathable. Its also hooded. Just make sure you get the sizing right. The arm length runs somewhat true but the length is a little but shorter. So if your between sizes definitely size up. I live in Midwestern US and get a decent amount of rain this year. I've had no complaints.

I got mine for a great price on backcountry.com But their selection on the sale is limited.

PM if you have any questions on it.

Yeah.. I tried it on yesterday when I was in London and it ran pretty short in the body compared to how baggy the arms were.. I think the model up from it is somewhat longer in the body? I'll be having a look at the Marmot as well! :)

This.

You can find them pretty damn cheap if you know where to look. The biggest issue I had with my Precip jacket was the lining disintegrating over time, but they have since changed the materials and they hold up better than ever. My Precip jacket was 10 years old when I threw it away last fall. I intend on replacing my old Precip with a new one this spring.

I've had this jacket for several years and it's awesome. Perfect lightweight jacket for heading out in the rain.

I now love this jacket even more, because I went looking for it, remembered it was in my trunk, and when I grabbed it, there was a fifth of vodka wrapped up in it that I thought I lost. Win!

where you are it is probably easiest to get Berghaus and they make some pretty good waterproof things. Plus they make a lot with gore-tex material which I have never had an issue with gore-tex anything. Personally right now I have a mountain hardware typhoon jacket and love it. It says on their website $200 but I think I paid like 140$ ish for it and I am sure you can get it cheaper I was in a bind and needed a quality jacket. Also I have had mountain hardwear in the past and their warranty is bomber.here is a link to one that is relatively cheap:http://www.e-omc.com/catalog/products/2836/Mountain-Hardwear-Typhoon-Jacket-Mens.html
