i was up in muskoka last week for a family vacation ... blah blah blah lol anyways i got bored! so the people we were staying with took us out waterskiing. So i was like hmmm what can i do to give me the feeling of skiing again... so i tightened the straps damn tight so the skis wouldnt fall off my feet if i did something... so i got up (i was using 2 skis)... and went around for a bit then i was like ok.. so i cut out...then came back and cut into the wake.. popped up and spun ... i spun a 3 but bailed. IT felt so damn good tho.. fucking throwing a 3 on waterskis lol... gave me the feeling of real skiing again... so all of you cottagers... try it... i warn you that its not as easy as it sounds.

nice i can water ski on one ski but it really hard to go back to two skis after u switch but ill try also there are these new water skis which are short and fat and have twin tips they mite b fun

wakeboarding is so fun, i tried it for the first time a couple weeks ago. i did a 180 over the wake, landed nosedive fakie and smacked my head so hard. I didnt know water could hurt like that

I went water skiing a few weeks ago with my friend, and i had never done it before. anyways, the end of the day, i decided to just jump off the wake and I did a huge cork 3. It felt so good. I somewhat tried to do a 180, but it took me corked again for a 3.

I think skiing on waterskis is defineately possible, as well as doing most of what we do on skis.

I was in orlando last weekend. they had a wakeboard terrain park with a flat-down, rollercoaster box, and a small flat. they had multiple jumps. I just kept thinking, "what would they think if I came in there with waterskis and just starting doin newschool stuff?" btw, you didn't use boats at this place. it had a rope thing that pulled you from above.

I've been on the river almost every single day since he summer started. I'm lucky enough to get to ride behind a Mastercraft X-Star every night. Anyways, I can't stop thinking about what it would be like to take waterskiing to the next level. The same level that wakeboarding is at. I'm getting better and better on a wakeboard but I can't help to think that as wakeboarding is progressing, waterskiing is being left in the dust (much like snow skiing when snowboarding was becoming the only rad thing to do on snow)...

ive waterski'd on and off for like 5 years, and we used to try that shit daily (one summer like 4 years ago we went every day all summer)

i dunno if its possible, but id like to think it is. I landed a 3 once, and im 99% sure it was complete luck. The equipment would have to change a ton to make it possible. Unlike a wakeboard, having two bulky ass ski's makes it very hard to do anything (and we had carbon fiber slalom skis, just wore two), especially with the shape of waterskis, and their tendency to really dig down into the water, causing someone to eat complete shit.

We did take the skis out a few days on a wakeboard boat, with boom tower, and it was easier having the rope that way. Im sure it could be done, and it would be pretty damn interesting to watch. All I know is water hurts a hell of alot more then snow when you fall (for real)

are you just talking about trick skis cuz shit those have been around for ever and if you wanna see some freestyle on water skis their are people who go off a 5-6 foot ramp and are tossing 3 and flips and lots of stuff on waterskis. and here just so you all can see how bad ass waterskiing really is

there are a lot of people who can do gnarly shit on waterskis off a jump, like in show courses. waterski show teams, or at least the good ones, invariably have a jump team with guys that can do any or all of the following tricks, 360, 720, front flip, gainer, mobius, discombobulater, and one ski variations of all those tricks. the reason that things like corked spins are sort of implausable at this stage is due to the construction of the skis and the jump. there is no way to get corked and be able to pull it back in. perhaps a boom, like someone up there said, would help, but right now, its hard to progress on jump skis.

i think guys we may be starting a new aspect of water skiing and if we all do it around where we live and other ppl catch on we can start this plus its fun and it gives us a ski fix in summer

the skis need to be much lighter and more maneuverable and have twintips before waterskiers can reach their freestyle potential using the wake, giving wakeboarders a run for their money. good idea

twin tip water skis have been out for a lonnnnng time.

its more like ballet though then it is newschool water skiing.

and wait till your try and spin something and hit the ski on your shin, guaranteed to not walk for weeks.

and whats so different is that (and not only in waterskiing, but wakeboarding, kneww boarding etc...) is that there is a driver to... and if you get good you need a good driver... so its like a team thing,,, and its not like a snow skiing coach makes a team between a trainer and a coach... so your really depending on someone else.

the tips would probably need to come up a ways higher and at a different angle so u dont nose dive, and eat watery shit
