well i guess it depends on what you want...

water ramps don't have carpet on them, but i've heard of people using it...

me and tan are using indoor/outdoor carpet for the run in, and then probably plexiglass for the ramp

I built one last summer. Use that fake grass stuff. The stuff that is little plastic strings. They have it at Home Depot and it is really cheap. Any of the plastic, outdoor carpet works but buy the thickest carpet with the most strands per inch or what ever works best. To see if it worked I bought the really crappy, thin carpet and it worked but it didn't last very long.

I'm pretty sure im the only person thats successfully built a water ramp on NS. The indoor/outdoor carpet barely works, you have to soap the whole thing every two or three times anyone goes. It's expensive as hell but you HAVE to use ski turf, the plastic crap. You have to keep it watered down but all you need is one subpump and its way easier and probubly less expensive than hundereds of bottles of soap.

Baseball is Fucking Gay, soon we'll be making the millions and they complain theyre not making enough money.

my trainer 'successfully' built one, but he's not on NS. so fuck you.

haha no need to get pissy about it. I just happen to have a decent amount of experience on the subject.

the boston hills ski area had some snowflex in the 80's but they closed down a year after. i wonder if its still there?

what kind of incline do you need for indoor/outdoor carpet to work? I'm building a rail setup in a totally flat yard so I need to know what kind of setup I need to make here.

on the rail question i was pondering that today...i think a greased down tarp would work well, and you could just staple it to the ramp...i'm thinkin the ramp will probly be 5 feet high and fairly steep

i gots me some dubble tippers

yeah I've been thinking of shit like a tarp or a slip and slide or something as well. As for the 5 foot thang, that's pretty much what I chose too. I've built this big box thats like 5x5x5 and I think I'm going to set up the incline in such a way that I can switch it up between a couple different heights/inclines depending on how well whatever I'm using at the time works.

what's with the one on the far left, is there no jump at all or is it just so small we can't see it?

to the person that said tarp and slipn slide to rail, i did that last summer it worked, but u have to have plywood under it and nail the tarps down to it tight. use soap and water
