Watched a dude get arrested at Sugar Mountain NC.

Story Time,

One day during exam week me and my homie Thomas (who's a snowboarder but he's alright) went shredding for the day at our local mountain. We got first chair that day and it was the closest to a pow day we get in NC and it was a pretty sick day. About 30 minutes into the day we see this total asshole not wearing a mask in the liftline right in front of the mountains owner. The owner tells the dude to put a mask on and the dude doesn't do it. They argued for about 10 minutes before patrol threatened to take his ticket for the day. The guy ended up putting one on and he got on the lift. At about lunchtime we see this guy again and apparently he had gone out of bounds. Patrol has taken his ticket and about 3 security guards are up there. This dude kept bitching about how he had done nothing wrong and even tried to get on the lift again. The patrollers and lifties finally manage to get the dude out of the way and we get on the lift wondering what happened to this guy. After I was done skiing I went down to the rental shop because I was working a night shift there that night and I asked my boss what happened. It turns out that security and patrol escorted him down to the bottom of the bunny slope and local cops arrested him. Later on the dude's mom comes down to the rental shop and is bitching about whether or not his snowboard was returned and she got into an argument with my coworker about it. Anyway I got to go shred some more that night but it was hilarious to see a dude get arrested. Anyone ever seen this happen before?
 
Yes saw a grown man have what looked like a mental break down at 10:30am on a Sunday. He didn’t seem like he was in a great place financially or mentally reeked of booze so prolly had some substance abuse issues considering it’s 10:30am on a Sunday mid March. But the guy was screaming a yelling about how he had given everything for his love of the mountains and worked at the resort for almost 15 years until he lost his job there and summer job cause of covid and didn’t get rehired. He claimed he was entitled to the skiing because of what he had done for the resort blah blah blah. Well he was having a bit of a moment holding up the line at our main lift with a crowd of safety patrol and 2 security dudes. Well a few minutes roll buy and the President of the Resort Walks over from the Clock tower(where the offices are) and atleast gets this guy out of line and calms him down and has a good chat with him. Guy sounded like he was in a tuff spot in life and was just tryna escape it the only way he knew how. Anyways the let him ski the rest of the day and gave him a mask. I felt bad for the guy. Hope he’s doing a little better after some kindness maybe gave him some hope

They are skiing down our main run under the main lift commonly flooded with newer skiers and riders because it’s right next to the 3 bunny hills. Well some bright guy in a snowboard decided he wanted to sled down the head wall and fell off his board on it. Well the board kept going all the way and ripped through the snow fence around the lifts base terminal and almost hit a chair full of people and Employee. My dad and his buddy’s skied with him down to the base area where he proceeded to try to run from 3 safety patrol my dad our hills gm and 2 security people. He got tackled by this prolly 6’6 240lbs security guy ended up getting arrested.

Story 2 I’m skiing with my coaches on a nice spring day last March before covid shut us all down. And some idiot unstraps his board on the lift and it hit a lady skiing down who fell into her kid both of them getting injured. Me, my friends and my coaches were standing on the head wall watching this. One called ski patrol and safety my other coach skied down to get the board and see if the lady and kid were ok. The other kept the person at the top. Well they ended up getting a sled ride to the bottom to get cussed out by my coach for being a incompetent moron. Then banned for life and arrested I heard the family pressed charges or atleast talked about it idk. I can’t complain cause me and my friends got to go dick around in the park with other homies during it

I watched someone get banned for life in December last season. We had an older guy come to the shop because someone had snatched his mindbenders while he was at the bar so my night boss went and helped him file a report. That night my boss was taking the bag from the register in the shop up to the auditor in the admin office and he sees some punk filing a complaint against our department. My boss goes and asks him whats wrong and he's bitching about how we set his skis wrong and how he keeps falling out of em, so my boss asks if he's got his skis with him. About 10 minutes later this dude comes into the rental shop with the same mindbenders that had been reported stolen which is stupid because all of our rentals are HEAD. We kept the dude in the shop and the gm comes down and bitches at him for being a dumbass and taking someone's personal skis and then the gm makes him apologize to every single one of us and we saw this dude get banned for life. IDK how you can mistake fucking K2 mindbenders for shit ass rentals but whatever.

Yeah, those people are everywhere. A group of 3 French skiers got kicked out of the ski reaort for ducking the avalanche ropes during a bombing operation. Next day all 3 got swept up in a category 2 avalanche they caused themselves in the backcountry near the resort.
 
A few years back up at snowbird I was chilling with my crew about to get on the tram and there was a dad with his son in front of us. Out of nowhere, some french dude started freakin out like 6 people behind us for some reason (nobody could understand him) but you could tell he was super drunk. He started throwing his shiz everywhere and his pole hit the kid who was in front of us. It got wild, the dad was furious..the french dude kept yelling gibberish.. and me and my homies were just chilling in the middle. Luckily, some employee spoke french and translated for some manager dude and the next we came down to get back on the tram they were arresting him for some reason. From the little bit that we had heard, he was upset that he wasn't allowed to smoke or drink and was throwing a tantrum.... I wish i had gotten it on my gopro cause it was chaos.

Yeah I was shredding down in NC recently and it was the closest thing to a pow day NC gets. Some ❄️ was giving me shit about wearing a mask. Total pussy. Anyways I put on my mask bc I wasn’t gonna let some libtard ruin my pow day. Anyways about lunch time these ski patrollers started giving me shit about going out of bounds. Apparently the left doesn’t want you to have fun anymore. I tried to get on the lift but then the pussy ass lifties got involved. I stood my ground bc this is america and I’m not about to let some cry baby boomers take away my rights. The bitches didn’t want the smoke so they called in the cops to arrest me bc they know I’d kick their asses.

I csn see this happening. Over here in europe we dont bomb the resort while open, and if something is roped of, its on your own risk and considered backcountry, but you may enter. No such thing as a boundarie system either. Then again, this season in Tignes ive seen certified guides take clients that arent capable into runs they all shouldn't be on, and it has gone wrong a fair few times, both this season and past seasons.

At my home mountain a guy on bath salts foaming at the mouth tried to fight me when I was in highschool. He ended up arrested. Maybe I’ll post the full story sometime
 
Was working at a hotel at a ski resort here in UT when we got notified of a domestic violence dispute and the cops were on their way. Husband was super drunk, verbally abusing his wife and kids in their condo hotel room, tried harming his wife, and his wife grabbed a pan and rocked that fucker good upside the head. Had to go up and assist with moving their luggage and the kids and wife were absolutely terrified but also had a look on their face of "it happened again" and it was pretty fuckin shitty. I hope they're doing well and got the resources they needed.
 
I don't have any good/entertaining stories because apparently all the sheep ski at my mountain. Go do some pcp and get rowdy or something.

Holy fuck yes I’ve got a story for y’all, so I was working up at my local hill teaching some grins to rip and I hear yelling coming from the bottom of the bunny hill, turns out there’s a guy on the hill who is a bipolar schizophrenic who was out for a rip with his caretaker for the day, anyways the guy gets into an altercation about a mask with the lifty screaming in the guys face, he then proceeded to whip out his pork sword and tell the lifty to “suck it” then turned to the packed line of people (most of which being children) and told all of them to suck it aswell. Well dude and his caretaker then tried to flee the scene, running from mountain ops then hopping in their car and trying to evade police the entire way down from the hill. Crazy shit, couldn’t believe I saw the whole thing unfold in front of me.
