thats youtube. fcc has nothing to do with any of that. copyright owners, aka big corporations, pay companies to police youtube for copyright infringement. once, youtube is informed of a copyright infringement they remove it.

i got one from the marley people once for an edit i had on brightcove...has anyone faced any repercusions from it yet besides just it getting taken down?

I had an edit taken off of Brightcove for using a Toots and the Maytals song. I only got one email and never heard anything about it after that.

WOW thats fucking gay! i had never heard of that untill now. what the fuck do they expect us to do???

i hope i dont get it.

just use songs from small little unknown bands. they dont have big companies prowling around for them and your getting their name out for them a bit. as long as your not making money off it i dont think it would be a problem at all

use lil wayne. its balla as fuck and most of it he can't say shit cause he stole something to remake it in most of his songs.

they dont want you representing their song anyway other then listening and buying it. It's dumb but not much they can do to you unless you profit

quick solution! do as they did in days old and feature the name of the song, artist and record label (usually website) and they will usually look at it and say, hmm respect paid, and let it slide.

I think all my videos got deleted from brightcove. not to mention i can't even log in anymore. ASSHOLES. For now I dont think any other videos have been delteed. klnock on wood

Do film companies get the rights to the songs they use? Or is crediting the songs at the end enough? I dont see how a little edit gets busted but not a big time film...

they must get rights or no producer would ever even consider starting to make copies because its highly illegal to use a song in a video that you sell to make a profit.

and yes, its retarded, we all agree.

This is nothing new folks. Wake up and smell the coffee. Nothing has changed. This has absolutely nothing to do with the FCC.

Yup. Give credit where credits due on the music, and as long as you aren't making profit off the video, then it should be fine.
