Watch. Brace Yourself.

I'm really going to be the first person to disagree? wow.

Well, it's cool. they are having fun, it was a nice edit. However, when I buy movies I want to see things done bigger or better than I can do. I'm not saying i can do that stuff, but ducking under a loader and doing a 2 ft stall isn't impressive to me at all. The handrails and stuff were sick. Even the bleachers would be sick on their own. I just don't want to watch really good snowboarders (or skiers for that matter) jib a single pallette over and over again, regardless of how fun it looks.

I like shots like those in movies, but whole segments are boring.

don't you agree that it is super technical though?!

Thats way more tech than 99% of people could consider being able to do

the best part is, scott stevens CAN back up what he's doing, if you don't believe me, see the movie It Aint Easy for proof. No one forced this movie on you, and no one told you that it was going to have any crazy big action that it never had.

no, but everyone is hyping the shit out of it and it's really not that impressive.

I would say that there was a fairly high level of technical ability, but I'm sure most sponsored riders could do most everything in that vid, besides some of the handrail shots... or maybe even the handrail shots.

I'm going to have to get this for my little bro (boarder) for his b-day... Thanks for the inspiration.

Im sure all those boards were stiffer than my fujatives. It's just easier to press boards (you are able to push and lift sorta) And when you're boardsliding your entire body weight is flexing the board, which you never get with skis (tip stands?)

thats was soo sick, some of his skateboarding stuff reminded me of mike valley though..................

how can u claim its not impressive.....have u ever tried shit one foot strapped in on a snowboard.....that shit is straight ridiculous......and if everybody is always trying to be "progressive". well i would say this is pretty damn progressive. one foot flips and some of those jibs and barrel bonks were insane.

i watch this movie every single day before i go out and ski. its rediculous. it is honestly my favorite movie in my entire ski/snowboard collection. his skate part in the bonus is fucking unbelievable too.

and gus engle is the heshest fucking kid around.

i actually know what you're coming from.. . the whole think-tank-airblaster-realtricksarentfun movement thing is a little played

i was at the premier at hood... theres definatly a crowd of kids who arent down with it

but at the same time its pretty cool to watch some of that stuff and i dont have any reason 2 hate on anyone

I watched all of Thanks Brain a few days ago and I;ve got to say I wasn't really impressed much at all, especially given the reviews online and from friends who snowboard. The whole thing was just mini shred and dicking around. It seems just like long edit you'd find from random kids on NS (put together pretty well though) or a bonus segment from a DVD.

just to clarify, i'm not trying to hate on the movie. If that's what they want to do then fine.. I just don't see why so many people are calling it mindblowing or amazing.

im calling it neither, but I have an immense amount of respect for scott stevens and the rest of the think thank crew because they are just all about having fun. Looking at what I do when I'm skiing, i can tell you that the best days i have dont come from trying to get a stock trick on a handrail, or clean a burly kink. The best days I have are days where I just do whatever feels like it would be fun to try. You dont have to take my word for it though, go into the park some day and try hitting rails and boxes without using the sculpted takeoffs, or something similar to that. I guarantee you will surprise yourself with what you can do

oh yea i agree completely. I don't even really like skiing park all that much, and I certainly don't hit anything burly.

I like just fooling around too.

my argument can best be summed up that I think it's cool that they are having fun, enjoying themselves. I think it's cool they film it for others to watch. But WHOLE segments dedicated to it , like this one, aren't that fun to watch, because nothing super creative happened. And it's certainly not mindblowing, or even that impressive like other people are making it out to be.

I watch that and think "oh, that's neat. Oh, that looked like it was fun," and not "OMG that is SOO ___________ (progressive, amazing, groundbreaking, take your pick)."

I've watched it a few more times and my opinion has changed somewhat. If you see it for what it is (fun, playing around, nothing serious) then it's pretty damn good.

for the people that are not impressed by the technical tricks in this and their ability to link tricks in one line, are you the same people who are so stoked on the Xtreme skateboard big air rather than the street skating found in the movies?
